A farewell ceremony was held on 31st March 2026 at Mehran Hotel Karachi, in honor of Professor Mirchand Oad, Director General Colleges Sindh, on the occasion of his retirement. The event was organized by the staff of the Directorate General Colleges Sindh.
Mr. Muhammad Jaman Thebo, Additional Secretary, and Mr. Mukhtiar Ahmed Mallah, Additional Secretary College Education, attended as special guests. Other distinguished participants included Professor Ahmed Bux Bhutto (Regional Director Larkana), Professor Fakir Muhammad Lakho (Chairman Board Karachi), Professor Gulab Rai (Additional Director Karachi), Professor Hafizullah Mahar (Additional Director), Professor Kamran Akram Sheikh (Additional Director), former Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Qasim Rajper, Deputy Secretary Syed Nisar Ali Shah and Deputy Director Mr. Shahbaz Ali Shahani.
The program was gracefully hosted by renowned scholar and director inspection, Prof. Dr. Riazat Ali B***o. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Director Finance, Professor Ehsan Ali Sheikh, followed by a welcome address delivered by Director HRM, Professor Zahid Hussain Rajper.
During the event, Professor Zahid Hussain Rajper presented traditional Sindhi Ajrak and floral bouquets to the distinguished guests as a gesture of respect. The staff of the Directorate General Colleges Sindh, including Mr. Abdul Aziz Soomro, Mr. Muhammad Luqman Mirani, and Mr. Saeed Ahmed Abro (Deputy Directors), Mr. Zuhaib Memon, Mr. Zahid Hussain and Mr. Amir Siyal (Assistant Directors) honored Professor Mirchand Oad with a commemorative shield in recognition of his outstanding services.
Professor Mirchand Oad also received flowers and gifts from colleagues and attendees, reflecting their appreciation and admiration for his contributions. Speakers at the ceremony paid tribute to his remarkable career and extended their best wishes for his post-retirement life.
The event concluded on a warm note with a high tea.

Historic Visit Report

On the invitation of Principal Prof. Fouzia Imdad, Director General Colleges Sindh, Prof. Mirchand Oad alongwith M.Luqman Mirani, Deputy Director Inspection visited Government Islamia College for Women, Lines Area Karachi, for the "Students Week" cultural program. The event highlighted Folk Stories, including "Umar and Marvi", and traditional "Folk Songs".

During address, DGC Prof. Mirchand Oad emphasized Sindh's significance in Pakistan's birth, stressing love for the nation. He highlighted Pakistan's cultural richness, referencing Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai's poetry on homeland love. He also shared cultural customs in marriages and events, concluding that Pakistanis are one nation, representing Sindh's spirit 💕.
At the end he distributed shields among winning Students.

*Visit to Ibn-e-Rushd Government Girls Degree College Mirpurkhas*

Prof. Mirchand Oad, Director General Colleges Sindh, visited Ibn-e-Rushd Government Girls Degree College Mirpurkhas. During his visit, he inspected the college premises, including classrooms, and found the institution clean and well-maintained. He interacted with students and encouraged them. The principal was found actively engaged in promoting academic excellence. Overall, the college's condition was satisfactory.

Director General Colleges Sindh Dr. Navaid Rab, and the team of Regional Directorate Colleges Karachi Welcomes Prof. Qazi Arshad Hussain as Regional Director Karachi

The Director General Colleges Sindh has extended a warm welcome to Prof. Qazi Arshad Hussain on his appointment as the Regional Director Karachi. In his message, the Director General conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure and expressed hope for a strong and collaborative working relationship in the days ahead.
