Pakistan Flood Emergency Update

Pakistan is facing one of the most critical flood situations in decades.

Head Marala is receiving an exceptionally high flood of ~700,000 cusec — the highest in 26 years.

Floodwaters have submerged the historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, with Ravi, Chenab, and Sutlej rivers overflowing.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an urgent flood alert for the next 48 hours. Districts including Lahore, Gujranwala, Jhang, Gujrat, Kasur, and Sialkot are at high risk of severe urban flooding.

Thousands of families in KPK and Punjab are already affected, losing homes, livelihoods, and access to basic needs. The situation is worsening as heavy rains are expected to continue.
