On August 10, 2026, the Chinese Culture Experience Course,” jointly organized by the China Cultural in Pakistan and the Department of Archaeology and Museums of Pakistan, officially opened in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Kichi, and Chen Peng, Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and Director of the China Cultural Center, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.
Under the theme “The Language of the Eastern Silk Road – Bridging China and Pakistan, Celebrating Shared Cultural Splendor” the four-day program runs from August 10 to 13. It has attracted participants primarily consisting of archaeologists and museum professionals. The course covers six thematic units, including Chinese language instruction, calligraphy, traditional Chinese festivals, and Chinese cuisine. The program aims to open a door to cultural exchange and provide Pakistani participants with an introduction to the richness of Chinese culture.
At the opening ceremony, guests from both sides noted that a series of China-Pakistan cultural heritage cooperation projects in recent years—including “Like Fragrant Mountain,” “Light of Integration,” and “Guardians of Gandhara”—have achieved fruitful results. Looking ahead, the two sides will further deepen cooperation in areas such as cultural relic restoration, heritage digitization, and joint applications for World Heritage status.
It is hoped that the training program will further strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Pakistan, laying a solid foundation for the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
At present, several Pakistani institutions have expressed interest in continuing to cooperate with the China Cultural Center in Pakistan to organize future editions of the “The Language of the Eastern Silk Road – Bridging China and Pakistan, Celebrating Shared Cultural Splendor,” enabling more Pakistani people from different sectors who have a strong interest in Chinese culture to experience it at close range.
