Day 5 — Summer Research Week 2026 (17-21 August 2026)
The fifth and final day of Summer Research Week 2026 brought together practical research skills, programming, research ethics, and a memorable closing ceremony.
The day began with an introduction to LaTeX for professional scientific writing and document preparation by Dr. Muhammad Usman. Participants were then introduced to Python programming by Mr. Nabi Bux, highlighting the growing importance of programming and computational skills in modern research. A dedicated session on Research Ethics was conducted by Dr. Saira Kazmi, covering important aspects of ethical research, including HEC policies, research integrity, plagiarism, and responsible research practices.
The day concluded with the certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the participation and commitment of the researchers throughout the week. Participants expressed appreciation to PASTIC for organizing such a wonderful and valuable research-focused event.
The Chief Guest, Director General PASTIC, Prof. Dr. M. Akram Shaikh, addressed the participants and emphasized the growing importance of scientific and research tools in the current era. He highlighted the range of services offered by PASTIC and reaffirmed that PASTIC's research and information services are available to support researchers and the wider scientific community. He also expressed gratitude to the speakers, organizing members, participants, and everyone who contributed to making Summer Research Week 2026 a successful and enriching experience.
