📢 Consultative Meeting on PDHS 2026 Held at PBS
A consultative meeting on the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey (PDHS) 2026 was held at the National Census Coordination Centre (N3C), Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), and was chaired by Chief Statistician Dr. Naeem Uz Zafar (SI).
The meeting was attended by representatives from UNRCO, UNFPA, UNDP, and UNICEF, including Ms. Afke Bootsman (Head of RCO, UNRCO), Mr. Muqaddar Shah (Programme Analyst, UNFPA), Mr. Umer Malik (Policy Analyst, UNDP), Mr. Faateh ud Din (Data & Analytics Specialist, UNICEF), along with other technical experts.
PBS was represented by Ms. Rabia Awan (DDG PSLM/PCS), Mr. M. Yasir Ishfaq (Director DP), Dr. Naveed Iqbal (JACC/Director), Ms. Rumana Sadaf (CSO-SD-I), Ms. Sana Habib (CSO), Ms. Ayesha Sajid (Instructor, PDHS), and Ms. Hafsa Batool (ACC, PDHS).
Participants discussed the PDHS 2026 questionnaire, SDG indicator mapping, survey methodology, Early Childhood Development (ECD) indicators, CAPI-based data collection, and implementation planning. They also provided valuable technical suggestions to further strengthen the survey design and ensure the production of high-quality, reliable data.
The development partners appreciated PBS's consultative approach and technical efforts in developing a nationally owned and internationally comparable PDHS 2026, and reaffirmed their continued technical cooperation and support throughout the survey process.
