Deputy Chairman, Hashoo Group, Mr. Murtaza Hashwani visited LG&RD Women Vocational School, Sultanabad Danyoure. The Secretary LG&RD GB, Kashif Mohammad Ali Hashmi welcomed and briefed the guest on the operations of Local Government Women Vocationals Schools in GB. During discussion, it was agreed to develop a long-term partnership plan focusing on areas of mutual cooperation including ToT, marketing of LG handicrafts, review and upgradation of the existing training modules with inclusion of new trades. It was further agreed that a team of Hashoo Foundation shall visit LG GB to identify gaps and potential areas of co-operation and reforms.

Minister LG&RD Engr. Altaf Hussain visited DD LG office Shigar. EE LG Shigar, CO MC, CO DC and DMO WMC Shiger were also present. Detailed briefings were give to Minister LG. Later, Minister LG&RD visited development schemes and lauded the efforts of LG Shigar team.

Interim Minister LG&RD GB, Mr. Altaf Hussain, visited LG&RD Baltistan Region. The Minister was given departmental briefing by Director LG BLN, DD LCB BLN and officials of Waste Management Company, Skardu. The Minister inaugrated digital payments (availability of QR Codes) of UCs of district Skardu and appreciated team Skardu for the initiative. Visit of the Minister to other districts of Baltistan Region is scheduled for this week.

A delegation comprising of senior officers from LG Punjab, KPK and officials of GIZ paid an exposure and knowledge exchange visit to LG Department, GB and other corporate organisations. The officers held meetings with Secretary LG&RD GB, Senior Director LG&RD GB, Divisional Director LG&RD Baltistan, Chief Corporation Officers Gilgit and Skardu, officias of GB WMC and CO MC Hunza. The visit concluded on 11th October.

On the directives of the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, Secretary LG&RD GB, Mr Rahim Gul, paid a visit to sub-division Juglote and Parri Bangla today on 26th July, 2024. The Secretary inspected the development schemes executed under GB ADP and ARDP 2022-23 and 23-24 by LG&RD district office Gilgit, visited the health facilities and newly constructed buildings, met patients, checked stock of medicine and also inspected forest checkpost near Chararkote junction.
