GCUF Strengthens Commitment to Sustainability Through Participation in ICOR 2026

Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad , Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam, will participate as Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker at the 1st International Conference on Recycling (ICOR 2026), organized by the University of Kamalia in collaboration with Government college university faisalabad.

Department of English Literature Launches Inaugural Issue of Academic Journal

The Department of English Literature, Government College University Faisalabad , proudly announces the publication of the inaugural issue of Critique: Journal of English Language and Literature, an open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing research and scholarly discourse in the fields of English language and literature.

The launch of the journal marks a significant milestone in GCUF’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, research culture, and intellectual engagement. The inaugural issue brings together valuable scholarly contributions and reflects the department’s dedication to creating a vibrant platform for researchers, academics, and students.

Vice Chancellor GCUF, Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam, congratulated the Department of English Literature and the Founding Editorial Collective on this remarkable achievement. He appreciated the efforts of the editorial team and acknowledged their commitment to strengthening the University's research profile through quality academic publications. He expressed confidence that Critique will emerge as a distinguished scholarly platform contributing to national and international academic discourse.

The Founding Editorial Collective expressed its sincere gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for his generous administrative support and encouragement. Heartiest congratulations to Dr. Liaqat Ali Waseem Government College University Faisalabad on securing a prestigious PKR 4.0 Million RASTA Research Grant.
His research project, “A Geospatial Framework for Deploying Climate-Resilient Peri-Urban Agriculture through Managed Aquifer Recharge Zoning,” has been selected for funding under the RASTA–PIDE Competitive Research Grants Programme.

Vice Chancellor GCUF Commends QEC, BIC and ORIC Teams on Remarkable Progress in HEC Rankings

Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐮𝐟-𝐈-𝐀𝐳𝐚𝐦, extended heartfelt congratulations to the 𝑸𝑬𝑪, 𝑩𝑰𝑪, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑪 teams on their remarkable progress in the recently announced HEC evaluations. He appreciated the dedicated efforts of the faculty and staff, calling the achievement a result of teamwork, commitment, and academic excellence across GCUF

The Vice Chancellor noted that the evaluation covered July 2024 to June 2025 and expressed hope for even greater progress in the upcoming 2025–26 cycle.
Prof. Dr. Rauf-I-Azam emphasized strategic planning and directed the concerned departments to prepare comprehensive roadmaps for achieving “W” rankings in all domains during the 2026–27 evaluation cycle.

He extended best wishes to the GCUF fraternity and encouraged continued efforts toward excellence, innovation, and institutional growth.

ORIC GCUF has achieved an impressive growth of 27% in their annual evaluation by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, jumping to 57 marks out of 100. Among Y category ORICs across the country, this is the highest score. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rauf I Azam heartily congratulated the ORIC team as well as the whole faculty of Government College University Faisalabad whose dedicated efforts, intellectuall outputs & innovative ideas made this growth possible. Director ORIC, Prof. Dr. Tanvir Shahzad is sincerely thankful to the worthy Vice Chancellor's continous encouragement, visionary and enabling leadership.
