SFERP & SERS successfully hosted a Capacity Building Session on Inclusive Emergency Management, GBV Case Management, and Code of Conduct Signing, facilitated under the SFERP-supported GBV program implemented by IPECS.

The session brought together minority communities and key stakeholders, who welcomed the initiative and emphasized that such awareness efforts are timely and essential in addressing prevailing GBV challenges in Pakistan.

Honourable Minister for Planning & Development, Government of Sindh, Jam Khan Shoro, visited the Jamshoro Phatak to Ghulam Muhammad Barrage Dual Carriageway under the Sindh Flood Emergency Rehabilitation Project (P&DD Component).

The project team briefed the Minister on overall progress, highlighting that Phase I has been successfully completed while Phase II is progressing at a satisfactory pace and is expected to be completed soon.

The Minister appreciated the entire SFERP project team for their dedicated efforts, proactive role, and commitment to quality and timely delivery. He expressed satisfaction over the project’s overall progress and the successful completion of Phase I ahead of schedule.

During the visit, the Minister emphasized strengthening drainage systems to enhance climate resilience and promoting tree plantation along the corridor for a greener road environment.

The visit reaffirmed the Government of Sindh’s commitment to delivering resilient, safe, and sustainable infrastructure for improved regional connectivity and public welfare.

The World Bank mission conducted a site inspection of the Dualization of Road from Jamshoro Phatak to Ghulam Muhammad Barrage Bridge today, expressing high satisfaction with the quality of construction and the robust road safety arrangements in place. Project Director, Mr. Ghulam Asghar Kansiro, briefed the mission on the project's performance, highlighting that physical ex*****on is currently 18% ahead of the original project schedule.
​The mission acknowledged the effective coordination of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), with the following team members in attendance: Mr. Muhammad Aslam Laghari (Deputy Project Director), Mr. Idrees Bhutto (Sr. Technical Specialist), Mr. Imdad Qureshi (M&E Specialist), Mr. Waheed Mangi (Technical Specialist), Ms. Sana Siddique (Social Safeguard Specialist), Mr. Shahryar (Environmental Specialist), and Ms. Rubab (Gender Specialist). Today 13-02-2026 Commissioner Hyderabad visited the ongoing SFERP road project from Jamshoro Phatak to Ghulam Muhammad Barrage and reviewed the pace and quality of work.
The Deputy Project Director, SFERP, provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing road development activities. A detailed presentation was also given at the KB Feeder Bridge located at RD 02+900, highlighting progress and technical aspects of the structure.
The Commissioner also visited the project camp and appreciated SFERP’s dedicated services for improving infrastructure and facilitating better connectivity for the people of Sindh.

A Three Day – Training Session

A capacity enhancement event was conducted for Rescue 1122 staff focused on GBV Case Management, Code of Conduct, and Camp Management. The session provided practical guidance on managing GBV cases ethically and professionally, while ensuring smooth and organized camp operations during emergencies.

The training enhanced the capacity of the Gender Desk Officers and First Responders at Rescue 1122 Headquarters and District Headquarters (DHQs) to deliver timely, accountable, and standardized services, reinforcing both professional and humanitarian standards and inclusive emergency management and response practices across the board at SERS 1122.
