On October 6, 2026, DILG Zamboanga City Field Office, through LGOO III Isidro A. Cillo Jr., joined representatives from concerned government agencies in conducting a joint inspection and dialogue in Barangay Calarian, Zamboanga City.

The activity aimed to assess the condition of the subject property, clarify concerns raised regarding the area, and identify appropriate courses of action in accordance with existing laws, rules, and regulations.

On October 2, 2026, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Zamboanga City Field Office, led by City Director Alvin Rex M. Joseph Daniel Evangelista, conducted an onsite spot-checking of items procured by barangays under the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program (BBMP) in various west coast barangays of Zamboanga City.

The activity aimed to strengthen transparency, accountability, and proper monitoring in the implementation of the program. Through the onsite visits, the team verified the procured items and their utilization, while also assessing their contribution to barangay operations and the delivery of services to residents.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Zamboanga City Field Office, headed by Local Government Operations Officer III Isidro A. Cillo Jr., together with staff John Henrick Badilles and Philip Joshua Omicting, participated in a series of Special Road Clearing Operations conducted throughout September 2026.

The activities were conducted upon the invitation of concerned barangays, with DILG Zamboanga City joining other government agencies and barangay officials in addressing identified road obstructions within their respective areas.

The special road clearing operations covered 13 barangays across the city, namely Cawit, Sta. Maria, Canelar, Zone IV, Tugbungan, Cabatangan, Pasonanca, Sto. NiΓ±o, Camino Nuevo, Kasanyangan, San Roque, Sta. Catalina, and Mercedes.

The Zamboanga City Peace and Order Council (ZCPOC) convened its Fourth Quarter Regular Meeting on October 1, 2026, at the Conference Room, City Hall, Zamboanga City, bringing together council members and representatives from various government agencies, law enforcement units, and partner institutions to discuss key peace and order and public safety concerns.

The meeting was chaired by City Mayor Khymer Adan T. Olaso, Chairperson of the ZCPOC, with the Department of the Interior and Local Government Zamboanga City Field Office, headed by City Director Alvin Rex M. Lucero, serving as the Head Secretariat.

Among the matters discussed were updates on the city’s peace and security situation, agency accomplishments, the anti-illegal drugs campaign, and reports from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). The council also received updates on the implementation of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and an orientation on the Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) approach.

As Head Secretariat, DILG Zamboanga City facilitated key proceedings of the council, including the presentation of the previous meeting’s minutes, discussion of matters arising, and monitoring of actions taken on previous resolutions. On September 30, 2026, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Zamboanga City Field Office participated in the service of Notices to Vacate to occupants of identified illegal structures in Barangay Mercedes, Zamboanga City.

The activity was conducted in coordination with concerned agencies as part of efforts to address issues involving illegal structures and promote compliance with applicable regulations.

During the activity, residents also raised concerns regarding late-night noise disturbances, particularly the use of the covered court for midnight basketball games and excessive noise from motorcycles in the area.

The concerns were duly noted for proper coordination with the concerned barangay authorities and other relevant agencies for appropriate action and possible intervention.
