CITY INTENSIFIES CRACKDOWN ON NON-COMPLIANT SUBDIVISION DEVELOPERS (Part 2)| The city’s Joint Inter-Agency Enforcement Operation Team intensifies crackdown against non-compliant subdivision developers, as it continues the service of cease and desist orders and installation of tarpaulins in nine areas where the subdivisions are located.

The areas covered include Rio Hondo, Guiwan, Lunzuran bypass road, Talabaan, Buenakapok in Culianan, Boalan, and Tala in Lumbangan.

The city is actively issuing the cease and desist orders against developers who fail to deliver basic amenities, and secure proper licenses.

The enforcement team said the crackdown is to send the message to prospective buyers to be wary in purchasing properties by always checking if the developer holds a valid certificate of registration and a license to sell, as selling without these documents is illegal and can be grounds for voiding contracts with full restitution.

The Subdivision Enforcement Team carried out the operation in close coordination with the concerned barangay councils, the Housing Division and the City General Services Office. The team implemented the measures to halt unauthorized or non-compliant development activities and to clearly notify stakeholders of regulatory violations.

The initiative reflects the strong directive of City Mayor Khymer Adan T. Olaso to strictly enforce land use and subdivision laws. (CMO-PIO) (photo credits: Subdivision Enforcement Team)

SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
May 31, 2026

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, a profound mystery of the Christian faith that will be a source of eternal contemplation and joy. Though the Church has used philosophical concepts to explain the Trinity, no human concept or description will ever fully explain Who God is.

The Trinity is not just a theological puzzle but a communion of Persons who invite us to know them. Knowing God isn't primarily through intellectual study but through prayerful union with Him. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to be known through a life of deep, intimate prayer. Although our minds can't fully grasp God's essence, He will reveal Himself to us more deeply if we seek Him in humility and prayer.

Reflecting on the Trinity, we should pray for a deeper, more intimate knowledge of God, asking Him to fill our hearts with His divine love and help us understand Him more profoundly. Humility before this great Mystery helps us grow in the loving relationship to which we are called.

RAMOS LEADS CONTINUOUS SITE INSPECTION IN ISLAND BARANGAYS| Upon the instruction of Mayor Khymer Olaso, City Administrator Percival Ramos spearheaded a site inspection in the island barangays of Tumalutab and Manalipa to check, verify, and document the status of existing structures in the area amid concerns over unregulated development.

Ramos was accompanied by personnel from the City Engineer’s Office, Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR), Housing and Land Management Division and other agencies.

Based on assessment, officials of barangay Tumalutab cite the urgent need for the establishment of a security outpost in the area, the repair/ renovation of the barangay hall, construction of additional classrooms and a new health center.

On the other hand, Manalipa officials also brought out the need to repair the school building, installation of solar street lights, construction of foot bridge and the improvement of the health center, among others.

Ramos took note of the requests of the said barangays and vowed to bring up the concerns raised to the attention of the mayor and for subsequent action from the offices concerned.

The city administrator did a similar site inspection in barangays Panubigan and Dita which form part of the Once Islas early part of May, to check on the status of various projects as well as to listen to the concerns of the barangay officials and residents.

The inspections stemmed from the recent meeting called by Mayor Olaso with the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region IX, and key stakeholders regarding the protection and preservation of the islands of Zamboanga City.
The inspection was conducted in coordination with the officials of the said barangays. (CMO-PIO) (photo credits: Secretary to the Mayor’s Office)
