ZCPO Strengthens Partnership for Sustaining Drug-Cleared Barangays

The City Community Affairs and Development Unit (CCDU) of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) conducted an orientation on the retention of Drug-Cleared Barangays at Plaza Hall, Grand Astoria, Zamboanga City. The activity was attended by members of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), Barangay officials, ZCPO personnel, representatives from PDEA, and other stakeholders.

The orientation aimed to improve the participants' understanding of the policies, guidelines, and requirements for maintaining the drug-cleared status of barangays while strengthening coordination and partnership among stakeholders in sustaining anti-illegal drug efforts.

During the activity, discussions focused on the retention requirements for drug-cleared barangays, the roles and responsibilities of BADAC members, proper documentation, reporting, community-based interventions, and the importance of continuous monitoring and implementation of anti-drug programs.

ZCPO reminds everyone that keeping barangays drug-cleared is a shared responsibility and encouraged all stakeholders to continue working together, stay committed to their roles, and actively support programs that will help maintain safe, peaceful, and drug-free communities.

ZCPO Participates in Disaster Risk Reduction and Preparedness Meeting

PMAJ ANA L SANTOS, Acting Chief, City Community Affairs and Development Unit of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) together with PMSg Heddy Boy V. Tejero, CRMC Focal Person, and PCpl Lito Jay G. Asedin, Info Ops Action PNCO, attended the 2nd Quarter Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Committee meeting held at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City. The activity was attended by representatives from different agencies and stakeholders.

During the meeting, participants were updated on recent seismic events, the latest climate outlook and El Niño trends, water security plans, Zamboanga City's El Niño preparedness interventions, structural integrity updates, accomplishments and programs of ZPLLDRRMO, and the latest dengue situation report. The discussions helped provide a clearer picture of the current risks and preparedness efforts being carried out in the city.

ZCPO emphasized that disaster preparedness is a shared responsibility and encouraged everyone to continue working together, stay informed, and remain ready to respond to any emergency situation. Through strong coordination and cooperation, agencies and communities can better protect lives and build a safer and more resilient Zamboanga City.

ZCPO Recognizes Outstanding Personnel During Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony

PCOL FIDEL B. FORTALEZA JR., City Director, led the regular Monday flag-raising ceremony at the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) headquarters along Don Pablo Lorenzo Street, Zamboanga City, reaffirming the organization's commitment to discipline, integrity, and quality public service.
After the ceremony, PCOL FORTALEZA JR. also recognized ZCPO personnel for their outstanding performance, dedication, and professionalism in carrying out their duties. The awardees were commended for their hard work and continued efforts in helping maintain peace, order, and public safety across the city.
A Medalya Ng Papuri was awarded to PCpl Roselle C Tambot, member of the Zamboanga City Police Office for exceptional dedication, unwavering professionalism, and exemplary performance as Blood Donor in the successful conduct of the Blood Letting Activity of the Mt. Pilong Bato Masonic Lodge No. 484 on March 14, 2026 at Samboangan Lodge Masonic Center, Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City.

A Medalya Ng Papuri was awarded to PCpl Fernando L Estocado Jr, for having demostrated exemplary efficiency and devotion to duty during the service of warrant of arrest on November 20, 2025 in Barangay Vitali, Zamboanga City that resulted in the arrest of a certain individual for the violation of RA 7610.

A Letter of Commendation was awarded to PMSg Reymarie G Clemente for his remarkable commitment and dedication to duty as member of ZCPS7, Zamboanga City Police Office during the successful arrest of a certain individual for Violation of Section 11 RA 9165 (Possesion of Illegal Drugs) at Andico Drive, Barangay Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.

A Letter of Commendation was awarded to ZCPS9- Ayala, Zamboanga City Police Office, personnel for their remarkable commitment, dedication and exemplary to duty during the successful conduct of Law Enforcement Operation against a wanted person on April 29, 2026 at Zone 5, Barangay Ayala, Zamboanga City that resulted to the arrest of a certain individual by virtue of warrant of arrest for Violation of Sec. 5 of RA 9262.

A Letter of Commendation was awarded to ZCPS3-Sangali, Zamboanga City Police Office personnel for their remarkable commitment and dedication to duty during the conduct of law enforcement operation against wanted person on April 16, 2026 at Governor Ramos Avenue, Barangay Sta. Maria which resulted in the arrest of Top 3 Most Wanted Person-Municipal Level Based on E-warrant by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Qualified R**e.

The operation led to the confiscation of three (3) Class-A light weapons, particularly: one (1) unit HK 415 caliber 5.56mm 45, and two (2) units U.S. Rifle 7.62mm M14 respectively, all possessed without the necessary license or permit from the proper authorities.

ZCPO Joins the Nation in Marking the 128th Philippine Independence Day

PBGEN DENNIS A. ESGUERRA, Officer-in-Charge of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9), together with PCOL FIDEL B. FORTALEZA JR., City Director and personnel of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), joined the celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2026, at Plaza Rizal in front of the historic Zamboanga City Hall. The event was held in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City, headed by Honorable Mayor Capt. Khymer Adan T. Olaso. With this year’s theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” the celebration served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our heroes and the importance of preserving the freedom they fought for.

The program began with a flag-raising ceremony followed by a wreath-laying activity at the Rizal Monument. Local government officials, leaders of uniformed services, and representatives from various sectors gathered to honor the nation’s history and celebrate Filipino pride. ZCPO personnel actively participated in the event, demonstrating their support and commitment to this meaningful occasion.

ZCPO Conducts Seminar Workshop on Deployment and Traffic Management Strategies

PLTCOL PAUL ANDREW S. CORTES, together with PLTCOL JERWIN SD CAGURIN, C, COMU, conducted a Seminar Workshop on the Deployment of Personnel for the operations PNCOs of Police Stations 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 12, including the 1st and 2nd Zamboanga City Mobile Force Companies (ZCMFC), City Traffic Enforcement Unit (CTEU), and City Mobile Patrol Unit (CMPU). The activity aimed to improve coordination and efficiency in personnel deployment across key operational units.

Also present during the activity was PMGEN EDWIN DE OCAMPO (Ret.), Executive Assistant IV of the City Traffic Management Unit, who shared insights and recommendations on traffic management, deployment strategies, and the integration of police and traffic operations within the city’s major roads and business districts. The discussion focused on better coordination among units to ensure smoother traffic flow and stronger public safety operations.

During the workshop, participants discussed key points such as the current deployment in the Central Business District, review of existing schemes, proper positioning in critical areas, use of mobility assets, establishment of fixed posts and chokepoints, and strengthening of rush-hour deployment strategies. Each unit also presented its updated deployment plan, including priority areas, manpower requirements, rush-hour deployment points, and grid-based location mapping for better monitoring and accountability.The activity highlighted ZCPO’s continued efforts to improve coordination, efficiency, and service delivery to the community.

ZCPO Participates in Mentoring 3.0 Cascading and Social Media Primer Launch

PCOL FIDEL B. FORTALEZA JR., together with ZCPO personnel, participated in the Cascading of Mentoring Program 3.0 and the Launching of the PNP Social Media Primer via Zoom. The activity aimed to strengthen leadership, professionalism, and responsible use of social media among police personnel.

During the discussion, resource speakers talked about the goals and key points of Mentoring Program 3.0, highlighting how mentorship helps develop capable, disciplined, and service-oriented police officers. The activity also gave participants useful insights on personal and professional growth, as well as building better working relationships.

The PNP Social Media Primer was also presented, focusing on proper social media use, online professionalism, information security, and avoiding misinformation. ZCPO personnel actively took part in the discussion and expressed their commitment to apply what they learned. Through these activities , the Zamboanga City Police Office continues to strengthen the skills, discipline, and professionalism of its personnel in support of better service to the community.

ZCPO Conducts June 2026 Monthly Rank Inspection

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) conducted its monthly Rank Inspection for June on June 10, 2026, at the ZCPO Quadrangle along Don Pablo Lorenzo Street, Zamboanga City.

As part of the inspection, personnel were assessed on their proper wearing of uniforms, grooming, and overall appearance. The activity aims to uphold discipline, professionalism, and uniformity among all ranks while ensuring that personnel remain ready and presentable in the performance of their duties. It also reflects ZCPO's continued commitment to promoting accountability, integrity, and quality public service.
