International Humanitarian Law Day Commemoration

In observance of Executive Order No. 134, which declares August 12 of every year as International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Day, the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) joins the nation in commemorating this important occasion with this year's theme:

"Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng International Humanitarian Law."

This observance serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to uphold the principles of humanity, protect the dignity of every person, and ensure respect for International Humanitarian Law, especially during situations of armed conflict.

Let us continue to strengthen unity, cooperation, and respect for human rights as we work together in promoting peace, justice, and the rule of law in service of the Filipino people.

DRUMMING UP AWARENESS ON THE REVISED SIDEWALK ORDINANCE (ORD 945)| The city government intensifies information drive on the provisions of the revised sidewalk edict or Ordinance 945 to pave the way for its strict implementation soon.

Photos show personnel from the Traffic Management Unit under the City Administrator’s Office informing vendors and business establishments downtown about the impending enforcement of the revised sidewalk ordinance.

The city government has launched a massive information campaign utilizing all available media platforms to build public awareness ahead of the strict enforcement of Ordinance 945, the revised law regulating pedestrian walkways and prohibiting illegal obstructions, that was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod last June.24, 2026 and signed by Mayor Khymer Olaso on June 29, 2026. READ| Ordinance No.947, an Ordinance Prohibiting the manufacture, sale, distribution, and use of unauthorizedvand/ or modified mufflers and open pipes on motor vehicles which emit or make any unnecessary or disagreeable odor, smoke, or noise within the territorial jurisdiction of Zamboanga City, providing for funds and penalties therefore, approved by the City Council on July 1, 2026 and signed by Mayor Khymer Olaso on July 8, 2026.
