The flagship program of the Geosciences Division of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau and the Office of the President is the Geohazards Mapping Program which started last 2006 to address the urgent needs of the country in light of the projected impact of climate change particularly along the western part of the Mindanao Island s

pecifically Zamboanga Peninsula. It's objective is to conduct detailed geohazard assessment and mapping (1:50,000 and 1:10,000 scale) of the identified critical barangays in the different Municipalities and Cities in Region IX.
