TESDA ZCICDO, DTI-Zamboanga City Strengthen Collaboration Through Courtesy Meeting on RSE Concerns
Zamboanga City – January 27, 2026 — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Zamboanga City Isabela City District Office (TESDA ZCICDO) welcomed officials from the Department of Trade and Industry – Zamboanga City Office (DTI-ZCO) for a courtesy meeting held on January 27, 2026, at the Office of the District Director.
The meeting served as a platform to discuss key concerns raised by several Repair Shop Enterprises (RSE) operators, particularly those related to compliance with National Certification (NC) requirements. Among the issues discussed were assessment processes, availability of assessors, and the implications of these requirements on the day-to-day operations and sustainability of RSEs.
The courtesy call followed consultations conducted by DTI-Zamboanga City with RSE operators who expressed challenges in meeting certification and assessment requirements. In response, DTI sought to engage TESDA in a constructive dialogue to better understand the concerns and explore possible interventions that balance skills standards compliance with enterprise viability.
TESDA ZCICDO District Director Engr. Adrian B. Ampong received the DTI delegation and emphasized TESDA’s commitment to ensuring accessible, fair, and quality technical education and skills assessment. The discussion underscored the importance of coordination between government agencies in addressing sector-specific challenges while upholding national skills standards.
Both TESDA and DTI highlighted the value of sustained inter-agency collaboration in promoting workforce competence, business resilience, and local economic development. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue dialogue and partnership in support of skills development and enterprise sustainability in Zamboanga City.
