The Camp Socorro Elementary School is located 42 kilometers from the Division Office of Zamboanga City, 20 kilometers from the district Office of Manicahan and 13 kilometers from Bunguiao proper. It’s an hour and a half rough road drive attainable by motorcycle and 4x4 vehicles or a 20 minute flight using helicopter 90 degree north-north- east from Edwin Andrews Air Base (EAAB). ear the chapel vicinity where the school got its name. Then, West Basilan Timber, a logging company of which Ben Go was the owner and donated three (3) hectares lot for the school site in 1991`, then in the same year Marciano Pajarito, the vice president of PTCA projected the idea together with the supportive parents and community members to build a two classroom building that he structure is so unique that even other school don’t have. The Flag was raised in the new school site and an increased in the enrollment was made visible with the supportive parents. In the year 1993, a three (3) classroom building was built according to DepEd policy with the initiative of the Major Hon. The four strong teachers occupied the said building with combination classes. In the school year 2006-2007 a reading kiosk was built for the children, an open stage was constructed too; at the same year a mini library was created and so with an office for the school head. In 2010 a new flag pole was constructed near the open stage to hoist the flag every morning. After 18 years thru the ups and downs of its academic and extracurricular stand, the school tries its best to give the best quality education to the school populace.
