The temporary ban is to prevent the entry of Avian Influenza. It takes effect immediately and shall be in full force and effect until the Avian Influenza is properly contained.

The City Government of Zamboanga City, through the Office of the City Veterinarian, continues to promote the adoption of impounded and surrendered cats and dogs in partnership with JCI Isla Rosa de Zamboanga.

This initiative supports animal welfare, encourages compassion within the community, and helps achieve the City Governmentโ€™s vision of a humane, safe, and rabies-free Zamboanga City.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who already opened their homes and hearts to our rescued animals. Your kindness and compassion give these cats and dogs a second chance at a better life.

CITY PROMOTES RESPONSIBLE ONLINE POSTING AMONG EMPLOYEES| The city government launches the โ€œBe WISEโ€ initiative Monday, May 11, to promote responsible social media use and reinforce professionalism and accountability among local government officials and employees.

Introduced during the regular flag-raising ceremony at City Hall grounds, the campaign is spearheaded by the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) and anchored on Republic Act No. 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

The initiative emphasizes four guiding principles for online and workplace conduct: โ€œWatch your words,โ€ โ€œIdentify your boundaries,โ€ โ€œStay neutral,โ€ and โ€œEngage responsibly,โ€ aimed at guiding ethical behavior in digital platforms and public communication.
