Reservist personnel from the 933rd Marine Company Reserve and 611st Naval Squadron Reserve actively participated in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Training conducted by the MDRRMO Bongao, Tawi-Tawi from 30 March to 01 April 2026 at Gloria Hall, H2MBde, MBDD, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
The training aimed to enhance the capability, preparedness, and responsiveness of participating personnel in effectively managing disaster situations and emergency operations. It covered essential topics such as disaster risk reduction, emergency response coordination, basic life-saving procedures, and community-based disaster management.
Throughout the activity, reservist personnel demonstrated their commitment to learning and operational readiness by actively engaging in lectures, practical exercises, and scenario-based drills. Their participation contributed to strengthening inter-agency coordination and improving the overall disaster response framework within the locality.
This initiative underscores the vital role of reservists in supporting local government units and disaster response agencies in times of emergencies. It also highlights their dedication to service, professionalism, and readiness to respond to humanitarian needs.

Reservist personnel from the 933rd Marine Company Reserve and 611st Naval Squadron Reserve actively participated in a Free Dental Extraction Mission held on 27 March 2026 at Brgy. Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
The activity aimed to provide essential dental care services to residents, particularly those with limited access to oral health treatment. Through the collaborative efforts of dental professionals and dedicated volunteers, numerous beneficiaries received free dental extractions and basic oral healthcare services.
The reservist personnel played a crucial role in the success of the mission by assisting in patient management, maintaining order, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations throughout the activity. Their support helped create a safe, organized, and efficient environment for both the medical team and the beneficiaries.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the reservist units to extend their service beyond military responsibilities, actively contributing to the well-being of the community. It also highlights the spirit of cooperation and “bayanihan” in addressing the healthcare needs of underserved areas.

The Naval Reserve Center – Western Mindanao successfully conducted a Donning of Ranks Ceremony for its newly promoted officers and enlisted personnel on 26 March 2026 at the HNRCen-WM Conference Room, NSRH, Brgy. Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City.
The ceremony was led by CAPT WENDELBOY Z BUNTAG PN(GSC), Commander, Naval Reserve Center – Western Mindanao, who graced the occasion and personally witnessed the significant milestone in the careers of the promoted personnel. His presence underscored the importance of the event and the organization’s recognition of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of its members.
The donning of ranks symbolized not only the professional advancement of the personnel but also the greater responsibilities and expectations that come with their new positions. In his message, CAPT BUNTAG PN(GSC) emphasized the values of leadership, integrity, and accountability, encouraging the newly promoted personnel to uphold the highest standards of service and to lead by example.

𝐀𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥-𝐢𝐧-𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐲, 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐢-𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐢

A successful All-in-One Joint Medical Mission and Outreach Program was conducted in Barangay Sipangkot, Sitangkay, Tawi-Tawi from 21 to 24 March 2026, delivering vital services and assistance to the local community.
The multi-day activity brought together various stakeholders and partner units in a unified effort to provide free medical consultations, basic healthcare services, distribution of medicines, and other humanitarian assistance to residents. The program also included outreach initiatives such as the distribution of food packs, clothing, and essential supplies, benefiting numerous families in the area.
Medical personnel and volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that quality care and support were extended to those in need, particularly in geographically isolated and underserved communities. The initiative aimed not only to address immediate health concerns but also to promote awareness on proper hygiene, disease prevention, and overall wellness.
The activity reflects a strong commitment to service, compassion, and community engagement, reinforcing the spirit of “bayanihan” among all participating units and organizations. The 612th NROTC Unit of Notre Dame of Jolo College successfully held its closing ceremony of Basic NROTC on 22 March 2026 at Bishop Ben Hall, Notre Dame of Jolo College, Gandusali Street, Jolo, Sulu.

The ceremony was presided by LCDR FELIPE L ANDRINO JR PN, Assistant Commandant of 612th NROTCU – Norte Dame of Jolo College as the Keynote Speaker, who delivered an inspiring message highlighting the importance of discipline, patriotism, and commitment to service. He commended the cadets for their dedication and perseverance throughout the training, encouraging them to uphold the values they have learned as they continue their journey as responsible citizens and future leaders.

The activity marked the culmination of months of intensive training, where cadets were equipped with fundamental military knowledge, leadership skills, and values formation essential in nation-building and civic responsibility. It also served as a testament to the hard work and determination of the cadets, instructors, and organizers who contributed to the success of the program.

The closing ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the cadets but also reinforced the mission of the NROTC program in developing disciplined, service-oriented, and patriotic individuals ready to contribute to the betterment of the country.

A Joint Turn-Over and Reception Rites for Midshipman Officer Candidate Course (MOCC) “MASIDTALA” Class 01-2026 was successfully conducted on 22 March 2026 at MSU Naawan Campus, Brgy. Poblacion, Naawan, Misamis Oriental

The ceremony was presided by CAPT WENDELBOY Z BUNTAG PN(GSC), Commandant of 678th NROTCU – MSU Naawan Campus, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, who delivered an inspiring message emphasizing leadership, responsibility, and unwavering commitment to service. His words served to motivate the candidates as the formally assume their respective roles and responsibilities as future leaders in the organization.

The Turn-Over Rites symbolizes the seamless transfer of authority and accountability, highlighting the importance of trust, discipline, and continuity of leadership within the unit. Meanwhile, the Reception Rites marked a significant milestone in the journey of MOCC “MASIDTALA” Class 01-2026, signifying their formal acceptance into a higher level of military training and responsibility.
The event showcased the dedication, hard work, and perseverance of the candidates, reflecting their readiness to embrace the challenges of leadership and service. It also underscored the commitment of the training institution in honing competent, discipline, and mission-ready officers.

ROTC cadets from the 610th NROTCU - ZPPSU Main Campus, 627th NROTCU - ZSCMST, and 627th NROTCU (Affiliated) Universidad de Zamboanga successfully participated in a shipboard tour aboard BRP Tarlac (LD601) last 22 March 2026.

The activity provided cadets with a valuable firsthand experience of naval operations, enhancing their understanding of maritime capabilities and the vital role of naval vessels in national defense and security. During the tour, cadets were given the opportunity to explore various sections of the vessel, including its operational areas, equipment, and facilities, while gaining insights from ship personnel on shipboard functions and protocols.

The shipboard tour served as an enriching learning experience, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. It also aimed to inspire and motivate cadets to pursue excellence and professionalism as future members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The Naval Reserve Center – Western Mindanao successfully conducted the opening ceremony of the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Training for the members of the 61st Naval Group Reserve (NGR) and 93rd Marine Battalion Reserve (MBnR) last 08 March 2026.

The activity formally commenced with the aim of equipping reservists with essential life-saving skills and knowledge necessary in combat and emergency situations. The training focuses on providing immediate medical care under high-stress environments, ensuring that personnel are capable of managing casualties effectively while maintaining mission readiness.

During the ceremony, the significance of TCCC was emphasized as a critical component in enhancing the operational capability and responsiveness of the Reserve Force. Participants were encouraged to actively engage in the training, uphold discipline, and apply the principles of tactical medicine in real-life scenarios.

The Organic Personnel of the Naval Reserve Center – Western Mindanao actively participated in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held last 12 March 2026, demonstrating their commitment to disaster preparedness and resilience.

The activity aimed to enhance awareness and readiness in responding to earthquake-related emergencies. Personnel diligently performed the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure, followed by an organized and systematic evacuation to designated assembly areas. The drill also emphasized the importance of coordination, presence of mind, and adherence to safety protocols during unexpected seismic events.

Through this initiative, the Center reinforces its dedication to ensuring that all personnel are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively respond to natural disasters.
