The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Tuesday sought budgetary support for programs that address the pressing employment, livelihood, labor protection, and social protection needs of workers, particularly those in the provinces and marginalized sectors.

Pinangunahan ni DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino ang konsultasyon kasama ang mga kinatawan ng mga probinsya, congressional districts, at party-list groups upang matiyak na ang panukalang badyet ng DOLE ay tumutugon sa aktuwal na pangangailangan ng mga manggagawa at komunidad.

Kabilang sa mga prayoridad ang GIP, SPES, TUPAD, DILP, Labor Attorneys Office, at iba pang programa para sa trabaho, kabuhayan, labor protection, at social protection.

𝟮,𝟰𝟮𝟭 𝗧𝗨𝗣𝗔𝗗 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝟱𝟴 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲.

TUPAD beneficiaries across 58 barangays in Zamboanga City joined the city's Guera Contra Dengue, carrying out clean-up drives, clearing potential mosquito breeding grounds, and promoting the TAOB–TAKTAK–TUYO–TAKIP approach to dengue prevention.

While earning temporary employment through the TUPAD Program, the beneficiaries also helped protect their families and communities from dengue.

𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝟵 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲

DOLE 9, through the Zamboanga City Field Office, turned over a Community-Based Water Refilling Station Project to the Boalan Homeowners Association Entrepreneurs and Agricultural Farmers Credit Cooperative (BOHAEAFCCO) on August 19, 2026.

Implemented under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), the project provides ₱811,250 in livelihood grant assistance for materials, equipment, and capacity building. The cooperative also contributed ₱604,000 for the construction of its production area and office.

The enterprise will provide safe and affordable drinking water to the community while creating livelihood and employment opportunities for its 18 members, 17 of whom are women.

The project reflects DOLE 9’s commitment to turn government livelihood assistance into
sustainable enterprises that create jobs, strengthen communities, and improve lives.

𝗔 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. 𝗔 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄.

A dependent child of a Striker Driver's Association member gained a tertiary education opportunity through DOLE's Isabelo Delos Reyes (IDR) Scholarship under the Worker's Organization Development Program (WODP).

The DOLE Isabela City Field Office facilitated the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with the association on August 20, 2026, opening access to educational assistance for qualified dependents of workers' organization members.

A former driver of a leading packaged bread brand secured ₱30,000 for his monetary claims through the Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) of the DOLE Isabela City Field Office.

With the assistance of SEnA Desk Officer Alvin Ocliaso, both parties discussed their concerns and reached a mutually agreed settlement—demonstrating how dialogue and conciliation can
help workers and employers resolve labor-related concerns.
