The DTI-CFIDP Special Coordination Meeting was successfully conducted on May 29, 2026, via Zoom, led by Regional Director Al-Zamir I. Lipae who was represented by Assistant Regional Director Maridel D. Dengal, along with key officials from DTI IX, namely PD Marlon Alabata of DTI ZDS, PD Estrella Roda of DTI ZDN, PD Nagdar Sasapan of DTI Sulu, regional and provincial division chiefs, and CFIDP focal persons.

During the meeting, Rodessa E. Tributante presented the Status of Funds, while Atty. Kathy M. Jusay-Jaron, Chief Admin Officer and Ms. Mary Loise Santos discussed matters concerning the downloading of funds, procurement, liquidation, and Sulu procurement. Meanwhile, Mr. Dalid discussed the status of proposals and implementation across various DTI offices under Region IX, including Sulu, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay. Rodrigo Montero Jr., Regional CFIDP Focal Person, also presented the DTI-CFIDP updates, covering reportorial requirements and schedules, FGD, trade fairs, Midyear Cum Strategic Planning, and interface activities. The meeting concluded with a forwarding message from Assistant Regional Director Maridel D. Dengal, reaffirming DTI’s commitment to the effective implementation of CFIDP programs and initiatives in the region.

The 2nd Quarter Regional Monitoring was successfully conducted on May 28, 2026, in Pagadian City, led by Engr. Samuel Delos Reyes, Division Chief of the Consumer Protection Division, together with STIDS Ryan Anthony Cabual, TIDS Kevin Ross Tampioc, and TIDS May Arbonida. The activity aimed to ensure the compliance of business establishments with existing fair trade laws, consumer protection regulations, and product standards in order to safeguard consumer welfare and promote responsible business practices within the region.

A total of 11 establishments were monitored during the activity, focusing on product labeling, price tag compliance, and the validity of permits and certifications. The monitoring team also conducted inspections to verify adherence to mandatory standards and fair trade regulations implemented by the Department of Trade and Industry. As a result of the inspection, two Notices of Violation were issued to establishments found with non-compliance concerns, while the activity also served as an opportunity to educate business owners on the importance of complying with consumer protection policies and maintaining fair business operations.

The Department of Trade and Industry IX successfully conducted the Orientation of SSF Cooperators on Digital Payments, E-Commerce Platforms, and Website Creation on May 25, 2026 via Zoom, led by Regional Director Al-Zamir I. Lipae. The activity aimed to strengthen the digital readiness of SSF Cooperators and MSMEs by equipping them with practical digital tools for business growth.

Representatives from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), namely Fhlori Ann Maye V. Luna and Michael Asdain, discussed Digital Literacy, E-Commerce Platforms, Government-Supported Digital Initiatives, and Basic Website Creation for MSMEs.

Meanwhile, Angela Grace A. Pupos of GCash and Christine Mitchelle N. Lao of Maya Business presented Digital Payment Solutions to help MSMEs improve cashless transactions and online business operations.

Division Chief Roxane S. Quiambao also discussed the Online Sales Monitoring Tool to help cooperators effectively monitor and manage sales performance.

The activity concluded with Closing Remarks from Assistant Regional Director Dengal, reaffirming DTI’s commitment to empowering MSMEs and SSF Cooperators through digital innovation and inclusive business development.

The Government Services Forum for KMME-MME mentees was successfully held on May 28, 2026, via Zoom.The activity was led by Regional Director Al-Zamir I. Lipae together with Assistant Regional Director Maridel D. Dengal, Undersecretary Blesila A. Lantayona of ROG, Mr. Patrick Chua, Executive Director of PCE, Division Chief Roxane S. Quiambao of the SME Development Division, and representatives from DOST, DOLE, DICT, IPSO, LBP, and SB Corporation. Participating speakers discussed various government programs and services available for MSMEs and entrepreneurs.

During the session, RD Lipae delivered the Welcome Remarks, followed by the Inspirational Messages of Undersecretary Lantayona and Mr. Patrick Chua, Executive Director of PCE. Program discussions were presented by representatives from partner agencies, highlighting initiatives and support services for businesses and stakeholders. An open Question and Answer portion was also conducted to address participants’ concerns and inquiries.

The activity concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by ARD Dengal, expressing appreciation to all participating agencies and attendees for their continued support and cooperation.
