LAND BANK, CITY HOLD DIGITAL ONBOARDING SIMULATION, PISO ACCOUNT OPENING FOR SENIORS| A total of 36 senior citizen employees of the city government enrolled in the LANDBANK Digital Onboarding System (DOBS) at the City Hall lobby, Friday morning, August 7, supporting the shift toward digital delivery of government cash grants and other benefits.
The activity, held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., was led by LANDBANK Zamboanga Main Branch Head Dionisio Caingcoy in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
Through DOBS, participants opened LANDBANK Piso Accounts linked to the digital system, which is intended to facilitate the electronic release of eligible government assistance through LANDBANK channels.
The City Hall activity followed a DOBS walkthrough on August 5, as part of preparations for the rollout. CSWDO personnel said the program covers 86,925 qualified beneficiaries across the city's 98 barangays [villages], with another registration activity scheduled for qualified city government employees.
For the initial implementation, CSWDO said beneficiaries scheduled to receive their first-and second-quarter assistance will undergo face-to-face distribution, while the third- and fourth-quarter releases are expected to shift to ATM-based transactions. This phased arrangement forms part of the transition to the digital payout system.
The initiative is anchored on the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), signed by Mayor Khymer Olaso and LANDBANK last June 5, and supported by City Council Resolution No. 1065, authorizing the partnership for the digital disbursement of senior benefits. (Arvin Midel) (Michael Vince Funes)
