The Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) School of Business Administration successfully held its Soft Launch at KCC Mall de Zamboanga on August 20, 2026 , marking its five years of growth, academic excellence, and commitment to entrepreneurship education. The activity brought together BS Entrepreneurship students, faculty, staff, and university officials.

The Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Service (LEDIPS), together with our Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officer (LEDIPO) proudly supported the event and its efforts to provide meaningful opportunities for students to strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and contribute to local economic development.

The activity provides interested employees and individuals with an opportunity to learn more about Chinabank’s services and card features, including free annual membership for the first year, with waiver options in succeeding years; 0% interest installment plans at participating partner merchants; reward points and cashback on everyday purchases; wide acceptance locally and internationally; and 24/7 customer service support.

A coordination meeting was held on August 11, 2026, at the Investment Promotion Office, BOSS Building, to discuss the future collaboration between the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Service (LEDIPS) for the upcoming Employers’ Annual Recognition Program in October 2026.

The partnership aims to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors, helping bridge the gap between job seekers and quality employment opportunities while promoting a stronger and more inclusive local employment ecosystem.

The 35th Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) is being held at the Limketkai Atrium, Cagayan de Oro City, from August 11–13, 2026, bringing together business leaders and chamber members from across Mindanao.

Representing Zamboanga City are the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPS) and Zamboanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. President Andrew Wee and Vice-President Atty. Carl Rubio participating in meaningful discussions, networking activities, and business engagements throughout the conference.

In line with Mayor Khymer Olaso’s goal of strengthening Zamboanga City’s business environment, promoting investments, and creating greater economic opportunities, the participation of the Zamboanga delegation highlights the City’s commitment to building partnerships and advancing local economic development.

Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) hosted the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)- IBP Research Team headed by Rey Castillo, the Research Project Specialist for the Key Informant Interview under the Development of the Innovation Blueprint of Higher Education in the Philippines project on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

The activity brought together key government partners such as DOST Region IX, DICT Region IX, DTI-Zamboanga City Office, and LEDIPS to share insights and best practices that will help shape a data-driven innovation roadmap for Philippine higher education.

Zamboanga City hosted the 2026 ZAMPEN Negosyo Agraryo Summit and Trade Fair, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region IX, from July 14–16, 2026 at CityMall Tetuan.

Representing Mayor Khymer Olaso, Executive Assistant Rosendo Castillo III reaffirmed the City Government’s support for initiatives that strengthen the agricultural sector by promoting market opportunities, digital agribusiness and sustainable livelihood.

The three-day event gathered 30 exhibitors from across the Zamboanga Peninsula and featured product exhibits, learning sessions, and business matching activities showcasing agricultural products and innovations from agrarian reform communities.

Harley-Davidson Cebu has consistently chosen Zamboanga City as one of the stops for its "Test Our Metal" experience, bringing the iconic brand closer to motorcycle enthusiasts in the region.

In addition to the riding event, the Harley-Davidson Cebu team explored potential locations for the establishment of a permanent dealership in Zamboanga City, a promising step toward a future investment that could further strengthen the city's growing business landscape.

Mayor Khymer Olaso, an avid motorcycle enthusiast and owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, warmly welcomes the delegation for upcoming “Test our Metal” activity this July 19-20 at Shell Gov. Camins and expressed the City Government's support for the company's future interest in investing in Zamboanga.

Another investment milestone for Zamboanga City!

Today marked the grand opening of the 7-Eleven Centralli Branch, one of the seven (7) new 7-Eleven branches that officially opened across Zamboanga City.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Khymer Olaso, represented by Kaizer Olaso, Vice Mayor Beng Climaco, and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Services (LEDIPS) headed by LEDIPO Rosendo Castillo III, reaffirming the City's strong support for investments that generate jobs, enhance convenience, and contribute to local economic growth.
