PAGADIAN CITYโOn May 25, 2026, the 547th Engineer โAGILAโ Battalion, 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, held a successful leadership change for its main units at the Battalion Bantay Laya Hall in Kuta Dao, Pagadian City, showing their renewed focus on being flexible and excellent in their work. The joint Command Turnover Ceremony for Alpha Company and the Headquarters and Headquarters Company was officially presided over by LTC ANABELLE R PARAAN CE (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of this unit.
โThe high-profile event commenced with the ceremonial pinning of the unit patch to 1LT JOHANNES PAOLO EZRA B CAรONEO (CE) PA a tradition officially administered by LTC PARAAN to welcome the Officer into the fold before he assumed higher responsibilities. Following this custom, the core ceremony featured the formal transfer of unit flags, symbolizing the seamless transition of authority, continuity of mission accomplishment, and the absolute maintenance of combat-support readiness across the battalion's ranks.
The event also highlighted the awarding ceremony for the "Biggest Loser Challenge." Sgt Jorelyn D Montillano (AGS) PA and PFC Sherwin Ray A Fuentes (Inf) PA won the Individual Category, while the Headquarters and Headquarters Company won the Company Category. These champions were celebrated for their exceptional discipline, wellness, and dedication to physical fitness.
โIn a key leadership shift for the battalion's tactical assets, the command of Alpha Company was formally transferred from the Outgoing Commanding Officer, 1LT SHALIMAR ELVIN M SAWATE (CE) PA, to the Incoming Commanding Officer, 1LT RANDY S AO-WAT JR (CE) PA. Simultaneously, the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, which was previously headed by CPT RHEANDJELLY S DAUG (CE) PA, officially handed over its administration to the newly pinned 1LT CAรONEO, securing a synchronized evolution of leadership across both vital sub-units.
โIn their addresses, the outgoing commanders expressed profound gratitude to their troops for the unwavering loyalty, discipline, and grit extended to them throughout their respective tenures. In response, the incoming commanders accepted the mantle of responsibility with a shared pledge to uphold the battalionโs stringent standards of excellence, fortify unit camaraderie, and drive their respective companies toward relentless mission success and operational capability.
