𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: The Provincial Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordination Board convened on June 3, 2026 as part of preparatory efforts for the upcoming turnover of CBMS data to the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU).

The CBMS is a data-driven system that generates localized, household-level information on the demographic, social, and economic conditions of communities. It serves as a vital tool for evidence-based planning, budgeting, and the implementation of development programs, ensuring that government interventions are responsive to the actual needs of the people.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes Chief Engr. Anavi F. Camacho oriented the PLGU CBMS Coordination Board on the CBMS implementation process and key preparations in line with the forthcoming data turnover. The Board likewise discussed measures to further strengthen CBMS implementation across Local Government Units (LGUs), including the identification of appropriate members to ensure effective representation and inter-agency collaboration.

The upcoming turnover of CBMS data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to the PLGU was emphasized as a significant milestone in strengthening local data management and utilization.

This initiative is in line with Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza’s initiative of promoting data-driven governance and evidence-based decision-making in the province. Once transferred, the CBMS data is expected to provide the provincial government with a comprehensive database for identifying vulnerable sectors, determining priority areas for intervention, monitoring development outcomes, and crafting more responsive programs for Catandunganons.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Employees of the Provincial Government of Catanduanes gathered for the Eucharistic Mass Celebration sponsored by the Provincial Accounting Office.

The mass was president over by Rev. Fr. Rommel Arcilla who reflected on Christ’s commandment to “love one another as I have loved you,” emphasizing that love for God is best expressed through the way we treat our neighbors. He reminded the faithful that in a time marked by division, conflict, and hardships, people are called to show even greater compassion, understanding, and love toward one another.

Fr. Arcilla further shared that one of the greatest challenges facing society today is the disconnect between faith and action. While many profess their love for God, he noted that dishonesty, selfishness, and acts that harm others often reveal otherwise. He encouraged everyone to examine their actions and strive to make their love for God visible through sincerity, kindness, and genuine concern for others.

The mass served as a meaningful opportunity for Capitol employees to pause from their daily responsibilities, reflect on their faith, and renew their commitment to serving others with integrity, compassion, and love.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Regional Director Atty. Yehlen Agus of the National Bureau of Investigation - V, together with Senior Agent Domingo Estadilla and Investigation Agent Felix E. Contreras Jr., paid a courtesy visit to the office of Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza to discuss the proposed establishment of an NBI Catanduanes District Office in the province.

Governor Azanza responded positively to the proposal and expressed support for the establishment of the district office, recommending that it be located within the Capitol Compound. The initiative will undergo the necessary processes, including the ex*****on of a Memorandum of Agreement between the PLGU and NBI. The agency is targeting the possible establishment of the Office within the third quarter of the year, subject to the completion of the necessary requirements and agreements.

With the backing of the Provincial Government, the upcoming NBI district office will be a major convenience and relief for residents, eliminating the need to travel all the way to mainland Bicol for NBI services. This local access will spare them from the costly and time-consuming trips previously required for their transactions.

Mas pinalakas ang paghahatid ng tulong pinansyal sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Governor Azanza matapos ipatupad ang one-day processing para sa Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

Sa dating sistema, inaabot ng isa hanggang dalawang buwan bago tuluyang matanggap ng mga benepisyaryo ang kanilang assistance, dahilan upang mas tumagal ang paghihintay ng mga pamilyang nasa gitna ng krisis.

Sa bagong proseso, ang tulong ay maaari nang mailabas sa loob lamang ng isang (1) araw, sa kondisyon na kumpleto ang mga kinakailangang dokumento. Inaasahan din nitong mabawasan ang oras, pamasahe, at pisikal na hirap ng mga aplikante, lalo na ng mga senior citizens at mga pamilyang nasa emergency situations.

Binigyang-diin ni Governor Azanza na ang reporma ay tugon sa matagal nang karanasan ng mga mamamayan sa mabagal na proseso ng assistance delivery.

“Baguhin natin ang dating sistema. Hindi dapat pahirapan ang mga tao na pabalik-balik sa kapitolyo, lalo na kung sila ay nasa krisis o senior citizens na gumagastos pa sa pamasahe. Kaya hangga’t kumpleto ang mga kinakailangang dokumento, sisikapin nating maibigay ang assistance sa loob ng isang araw.”

Sa kabuuan, inaasahang magreresulta ang pagbabago sa mas mabilis na serbisyo at pag-abot ng tulong sa mga Catandunganon na nangangailangan ng agarang suporta.

Rodriguez secured her spot after clocking 54.83 seconds in the Women’s 400m final of the Asian U20 Athletics Championships, earning her a ticket to the world stage competition in August.

Hailing from Bagamanoc, Catanduanes, Jeralyn is a true pride of the province, embodying excellence, determination, and world-class talent.

May positibong balita para sa mga Catandunganon kaugnay ng patuloy na paghahanap ng agarang solusyon sa krisis sa suplay ng kuryente sa lalawigan.

Ayon kay Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza, personal niyang nakausap ang mga kinatawan ng Cebu-based Vibant at hiniling na mabigyan ang Catanduanes ng pinakamainam at pinakamababang power rate na maaari nilang ialok sa probinsya.

Kinumpirma naman ni FICELCO Project Supervisor Atty. Jeho Fajardo na ang panukalang power rates ng Vibant ay kasalukuyang nang nasa pagsusuri at pag-apruba ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

Samantala, inaasahang maidedeliver ngayong unang linggo ng Hunyo ang mga generator sets (gensets) ng Vibant sa Catanduanes. Kaagad itong sasailalim sa testing at inaasahang matatapos sa ikalawang linggo ng buwan. Kung walang magiging aberya sa itinakdang iskedyul, target na magsimula ang operasyon o go-live sa kalagitnaan ng Hunyo 2026.

Ang National Electrification Administration (NEA) naman ay tumutulong upang matapos ang TOR ng Competitive Selection Process (CSP) para sa 24-megawatt power supply project sa Catanduanes.

Ipinaliwanag ni Governor Azanza na ang EPSA ang itinuturing na short-term solution sa kasalukuyang power crisis, habang ang 24-megawatt CSP project ang magsisilbing medium-term solution. Para naman sa long-term solution, patuloy niyang isinusulong ang pagkonekta ng Catanduanes sa main power grid upang hindi na manatiling off-grid ang lalawigan. Kabilang din sa kanyang mga isinusulong ang pagpapalawak ng renewable energy sources tulad ng solar, hydro, at wind power, gayundin ang pag-upgrade ng transmission lines ng FICELCO.

Matatandaan na sa pakikipagpulong ni Governor Azanza kina Department of Energy Secretary Sharon Garin at NEA Administrator Nani Almeda, kanyang hiniling ang agarang pagbilis ng Terms of Reference (TOR) discussions upang mapasimulan na ang bidding para sa 24-megawatt power supply project ng FICELCO.

Inaasahan na makukumpleto ang buong bidding process para sa naturang proyekto sa loob ng anim na buwan, isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa mas matatag at maaasahang suplay ng kuryente para sa mga Catandunganon.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: GSIS officials led by Atty. Raquel Buensalida, Senior Vice President for the Luzon Group, together with Rosalinda Mendoza, Vice President for the South Luzon Office, Eugene C. Virgo, GSIS Legazpi Branch Manager, Maria Theresa R. Vega, Head of the GSIS Catanduanes Extension Office, and their team paid a courtesy visit to Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza.

The GSIS delegation introduced the Ginhawa Solar Energy Loan Program, which allows qualified members to borrow up to ₱500,000 for the purchase and installation of residential solar panel systems, providing an alternative energy option amid recurring power interruptions in the province.

The Provincial Government’s priority programs and development direction for Catanduanes were also discussed, where Governor Azanza presented key initiatives under his 5K Programs, particularly 5K-Kalusugan, which includes efforts to upgrade the Eastern Bicol Medical Center into a tertiary hospital to further improve healthcare services for Catandunganons.

He also highlighted the Province’s 5K-Kabuhayan initiatives, including salt production, beekeeping, soy production, abaca product development, poultry and egg farming, and other livelihood programs aimed at creating sustainable economic opportunities across the island.

"While assistance remains important in times of need, our long-term goal is to create livelihood opportunities that will help our people become self-sufficient and economically empowered," Governor Azanza emphasized.

The visit concluded with the GSIS officials expressing appreciation for the Provincial Government's ongoing development initiatives and Governor Azanza's vision for advancing the welfare of Catandunganons
