VNHS Athletes Bring Honor to Carmen District
Vinapor National High School students proudly brought home several medals after representing the District of Carmen in the Division Athletic Meet 2025 held in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte on November 16. Despite being a small school, their determination and teamwork proved that VNHS students can shine in major competitions.
Many athletes shared that the journey was challenging. They trained under the heat of the sun, spent long hours practicing, and even sacrificed their weekends just to improve. Some did not secure first place, but they said the experience was still meaningful and worth it. They expressed their gratitude to their coaches for guiding them, to their parents and teachers for their support, to the school for believing in them, and to their friends who cheered for them until the end. For them, those small victories and memories were already big wins.
One of the highlights was the outstanding performance of Jocelyn Marcellones, who captured gold in the 400m, silver in the 200m and 100m, and bronze in the 4x400m relay. In the boys’ category, Marc R. Osigan also secured a bronze medal in the 4x400m relay. The VNHS baseball team claimed a bronze medal, showing their teamwork and discipline. Other VNHS athletes also brought pride to the school: Joremie Palang-At won gold in Billiards and qualified for regionals; Jomar Longgakit earned silver in Sepak Takraw; and Jonathan Degamo took home bronze in the 5x5 Basketball Secondary Boys category.
Their achievements may seem small to others, but for VNHS, these are victories worth celebrating. They remind everyone that success is not only about winning first place, but about giving your best and representing your school with pride.
