Good afternoon.
We recently came across a comment on one of the photos shared from our page. We sincerely appreciate the thoughts shared and understand the concern raised. With this, we would like to take the opportunity to clarify the details surrounding our recently concluded event, Project Sidlang.
This project was designed to recognize the skills, talents, and passions of our learners. It was also crafted to boost their confidence, improve mental health, and promote camaraderie among them.
Among the activities we held were Got Talent, a Squid Game-inspired competition fused with our traditional Laro ng Lahi, a film showing (featuring productions played and directed by our own students), and an ML (Mobile Legends) tournament.
While it may seem unusual for a school-initiated event to include this kind of game, we want to clarify that it was never intended to promote or encourage the prioritization of gaming. Rather, the aim was to acknowledge and appreciate the skills of our students who excel in this area. Nevertheless, ML is also now considered a form of e-sports, and there are professional players who pursue successful careers through this game. Recognizing this helps us value a broader range of talents that our learners may possess.
This also serves as a metaphor—an expression that reminds us that students excel in different areas of life. Some may be academically inclined, while others thrive in areas like the arts, sports, or technology, but the smiles on their faces as they take pride in doing something they are good at—that is what we aimed to showcase.
Again, we want to emphasize that it was never our intention to promote this kind of game. In fact, we also had several other planned activities that offered different experiences, such as the yearly search for Mr. and Ms. Tinago NHS, which, unfortunately, had to be postponed due to uncontrollable circumstances.
We sincerely apologize if the inclusion of this activity caused any misunderstanding or discomfort, and we hope this message clarifies our intentions. It is our earnest hope that these events did not leave a negative impression on our organization, faculty, and, most importantly, our school.
Good day, and God bless.
