Victorias City and BPI Foundation Conduct 4-Day Financial Literacy and Wellness Seminar
Victorias City, Negros Occidental — The City Government of Victorias, through the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO), in partnership with the BPI Foundation Inc., successfully conducted a four-day Financial Literacy and Wellness Seminar from May 18 to 21, 2026, as part of its continuing effort to empower communities through financial education and responsible financial management.
The activity was conducted in fulfillment of the Memorandum of Agreement signed between the City Government of Victorias and BPI Foundation on February 10, 2026, aimed at strengthening financial awareness and promoting long-term financial wellness among various sectors in the city.
Anchored on the belief that financial wellness extends beyond the management of money and is an essential component of overall well-being and life satisfaction, the seminar series highlighted the importance of savings, budgeting, financial discipline, and informed decision-making toward personal and professional success.
The four-day lecture series catered to different sectors and stakeholders, including personnel from the BJMP Victorias, Victorias Component City Police Station, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, accredited associations and cooperatives, youth organizations, barangay representatives, and other community partners.
One of the highlights of the activity was the “Financial Education Unboxed Lectures with Financial Wellness Journal” facilitated by BPI Foundation lecturers and partners, which provided participants with practical financial management tools and real-life financial planning discussions.
The City Government expressed its gratitude to the individuals and partner agencies who supported the success of the program, including Mayor Hon. Abelardo “Junb” Bantug III, SP Member Lou Richard “Jappy” Cuaycong, Ms. Jems Silab-Reunir, Dr. Faith Bacucang, Mr. Jhimtonn Salvatuna, Ms. Marjorie Ayco, Victorias PNP Chief Lt. Col. Terence Sta. Ana, Victorias City Jail Warden JC.Insp. Joseph Villafranca, Sir Manolo, and the lecturers and representatives from the BPI Foundation Inc.
Special acknowledgment and gratitude was also extended to Hon. Eric Alcobilla for allowing the use of the Barangay XIII Covered Court as one of the venues for the activity.
Through this initiative, LEDIPO and BPI Foundation reaffirmed their commitment to local economic growth and development by promoting financial literacy as a tool for empowerment and resilience of Victoriasanons.
