Two days of talent, creativity, culture, and teamworkโ€”LITMUS 2026 brought together young people from across the city to showcase their skills through various literary, musical, and dance competitions.

Anchored on this yearโ€™s Linggo ng Kabataan theme, โ€œ๐ƒ๐ข๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฌ, ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง ๐€๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ,โ€ LITMUS 2026 highlighted how young people may come from different backgrounds, experiences, and communities, yet still share common values, dreams, and hopes for the future.

The competitions also gave us an opportunity to appreciate our culture and identity as Filipinos. Through our literature, music, and traditional dances, we were reminded of the common ground that connects usโ€”a shared history, culture, and heritage that continues to shape who we are.

Our differences make our communities diverse, but our shared culture reminds us that there is much that brings us together. Events like LITMUS are important not only because they provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents, but also because they help keep our traditions and cultural expressions alive among the next generation.

The success of this event was made possible through the support and cooperation of the people and offices who contributed to its planning and implementation.

On August 22, 2026, we had the joy of spending the day with around ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ง from Hacienda Yahweh, Barangay 13, through our Palarong Pinoy.

Beyond the games, this activity was a simple reminder of how important our children are to our community. They are not only the future we often speak aboutโ€”they are already a meaningful part of our community today. Their voices, dreams, happiness, and well-being matter.

Every child has the right to play, to learn, to feel safe, to be heard, and to grow in an environment where they are valued and cared for. As a community, it is our shared responsibility to protect these rights and create spaces where children can simply be children.

Seeing them laugh, play, and enjoy the games reminded us why these little moments matter. The memories we create with them today can help shape the kind of community they will grow up in tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who shared their time and effort in making this activity possible. Most of all, thank you to the children of Hacienda Yahweh for reminding us that sometimes, serving the community simply means being there, sharing a little joy, and making them feel that they belong.

On ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation and Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of Victorias City came together for a meaningful environmental initiative in Barangay 13.

Through the collective efforts of our youth volunteers and partners, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ ๐›๐š๐ฆ๐›๐จ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ž๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ were plantedโ€”each one representing a small but meaningful step toward a greener and more sustainable Victorias City.

We extend our sincere appreciation to ๐Š๐š๐ฉ. ๐„๐ซ๐ข๐œ ๐€๐ฅ๐œ๐จ๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š, the ๐•๐‚๐„๐๐‘๐Ž, and the ๐๐š๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฒ ๐Š๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ ๐š๐ง ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐œ๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง for their valuable assistance and support throughout the activity.

On August 21, 2026, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation and the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of Victorias City brought the spirit of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 to Bahay Pag-Asa and BJMP Victorias City.

This outreach program was a simple yet meaningful opportunity to reach out, listen, and share with young people whose experiences may be different from our own. Through the giving of essential supplies and, more importantly, the time and presence we shared with them, we hoped to remind them that they are not forgotten and that their dreams and aspirations continue to matter.

As part of the activity, ๐‡๐จ๐ง. ๐‡๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ฒ๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐‚๐ซ๐ฎ๐ณ and ๐‡๐จ๐ง. ๐Š๐ž๐ง ๐•๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐š๐ฌ also conducted an ๐€๐ง๐ญ๐ข-๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐’๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ for the youth of Bahay Pag-Asa. The session provided an opportunity for the young participants to better understand bullying, its impact on others, and the importance of choosing kindness, respect, and empathy in our interactions with one another.

For us, Linggo ng Kabataan is more than a celebration. It is a reminder that every young person deserves to be seen, heard, valued, and given the opportunity to hope for a better tomorrow.

We may come from different circumstances and walk different paths, but our aspirations remain connected by the same desire for a future filled with hope, dignity, and opportunity.
