Babalik na ang Palarong Pambansa sa National Capital Region matapos mapili ang Quezon City bilang host ng 2027 edition ng pinakasikat na youth sports event sa bansa. Ang anunsyo ay ginawa ni Secretary General Malcolm Garma sa isang press conference sa Agusan del Sur, at ang formal turnover ay naka-schedule sa closing ceremony.
Ito ang nagmamarka sa pagbabalik ng laro sa Metro Manila simula nang i-host ito ng Marikina noong 2023.

𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗨𝗘𝗟𝗔, 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿 — The Municipality of Veruela proudly joins the Province of Agusan del Sur in celebrating another significant governance milestone after successfully attaining the “𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹” status with an impressive 106% rating during the CY 2026 Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment.

The recognition reflects the municipality’s strong commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and welfare of women, children, and victim-survivors through strengthened programs, coordinated interventions, and responsive local governance mechanisms.

The assessment conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) evaluates the functionality, effectiveness, and responsiveness of Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children in implementing policies, programs, and protective measures within their respective local government units.

This remarkable achievement demonstrates the collective efforts and unwavering support of the Local Government Unit of Veruela, partner agencies, stakeholders, and community sectors in advancing gender-responsive and child-sensitive governance.

More than just a recognition, the award symbolizes Veruela’s continuing dedication to building safer, more inclusive, and empowered communities where the welfare and protection of every citizen remain a top priority.

3,000 KA SAKO SA SERTIPIKADONG BINHI SA HUMAY GIPANGHATAG PINAAGI SA BINHING E-PADALA PROGRAM SA VERUELA

VERUELA, Agusan del Sur — Opisyal nang nagsugod karong adlawa ang pagpanghatag sa kapin 3,000 ka sako sa sertipikadong binhi sa humay ngadto sa mga kwalipikadong mag-uuma sa lungsod sa Veruela pinaagi sa Binhing E-Padala Program sa Department of Agriculture ubos sa Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Seed Program.

Gikatakdang makabenepisyo niini ang daghang mag-uuma gikan sa nagkadaiyang barangay sa lungsod diin personal nilang gidawat ang ilang alokasyon sa binhi isip pagpangandam alang sa umaabot nga panahon sa pagpugas.

Tumong sa Binhing E-Padala Program nga mapalambo ang produksiyon sa humay, mapadaghan ang ani sa mga mag-uuma, ug mamenosan ang ilang gasto pinaagi sa paggamit sa dekalidad ug sertipikadong binhi.

Nagpakita usab kini sa padayon nga suporta sa gobyerno ngadto sa sektor sa agrikultura ug sa dakong papel sa mga mag-uuma isip haligi sa seguridad sa pagkaon ug kalamboan sa ekonomiya sa komunidad.

LOOK | VERUELA BOOSTS DIGITAL GOVERNANCE THROUGH COA eNGAS & eBUDGET TRAINING

In line with its continuing commitment to transparent, accountable, and technology-driven governance, the Local Government Unit of Veruela, Agusan del Sur successfully conducted the Training on the Enhanced Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS) Version 2.0 and eBudget System spearheaded by the Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office XIII.

The five-day capability-building activity, held on May 25–29, 2026 at the Tourism Display Center, Poblacion, Veruela, gathered personnel from the Municipal Accounting Office and Municipal Budget Office to strengthen their technical competencies in modern government accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, appropriation monitoring, and budget utilization management.

Serving as resource persons and facilitators were COA Regional Office XIII personnel:

• Ben Jill V. Silvano – State Auditor IV and Audit Team Leader, R13-24, NGS-7, A & C
• Engr. Efren L. Soliva – Information Technology Officer II and Section Head of the Regional Information Technology Services

The training provided comprehensive discussions, hands-on technical assistance, and operational guidance on the proper implementation and utilization of the eNGAS and eBudget Systems — computerized platforms designed to modernize and standardize government financial management processes among Local Government Units and national government agencies.

Participants were equipped with updated knowledge and practical applications on recording financial transactions, monitoring appropriations and allotments, tracking obligations and balances, generating accurate accounting reports, and ensuring compliance with COA, DBM, and other national government standards and regulations.

The activity further reinforces the Municipality of Veruela’s commitment to strengthening fiscal responsibility, institutional efficiency, digital transformation, and public accountability in delivering quality government service to the people.

Through initiatives such as this, LGU Veruela continues to move forward toward smarter, faster, and more responsive governance anchored on the principle of “Serbisyong Tinud-anay alang sa Malahutayong Kalambuan.”
