Drowning, while not considered a disease nor a condition, is a silent and serious public health issue that is neglected by governments and communities worldwide that experience thousands of deaths by drowning every year. https://tinyurl.com/4z87x75x | via ONE News

Farewell George L. Salubre, F. L. L.
M83-00008-BM

Our hearts are heavy with the news of Gore's passing. He was a beloved Fellow in Philippine Life Saving.

Gore's life ended not with sadness, but with a sense of completion. He left us peacefully, having spent his last days doing what he loved most: helping others, saving lives, and keeping our waters safe.

As a dedicated volunteer water safety instructor and our Vice President for Western Mindanao and a Full Board Director, Gore gave his time, strength, and spirit to protect our shores and the people who enjoy them. He wasn't alone in this mission; he stood with many others who, like him, believed every life is worth protecting and every second counts when safety is on the line.

Gore never looked for praise. He simply wanted to make a real difference: to keep one more child safe, help one more swimmer feel confident, and spare one more family from pain. If his work achieved even a small part of this, then his time with Philippine Life Saving was truly worthwhile.

Please don't just remember him with sadness. Instead, think of the ocean he loved, the calm mornings by the shore, the long sunny days, and the many times we, together, turned fear into courage. Remember his bravery, which came from a deep love for life and for every person he helped protect from drowning.

To Our Fellow Lifesaving Volunteers:

Let's honor Gore's memory by continuing our mission: train harder, care deeper, and never underestimate the vital impact of your work.

To Evegel, children, Gore's family and friends:

We are deeply grateful for your strength and for understanding why he chose this important calling.

To All of Us in Philippine Life Saving:

Let's live with caution, compassion, and a deep respect for the waters and for each other.

Even though Gore is no longer with us, his spirit lives on - in every lesson taught, in every life saved, and in every ripple of the sea.

With gratitude and love, we remain,

- PLS Full Board - Executive Board

Praise report

We praise God for the success of the Special Swim and Survive Training 2023 held at MVC Swimming pool last July 9 - 14, 2023.

There were 21 new lifesavers who completed and accepted the advocacy of Philippine Life Saving that for every household, there is one lifesaver.

Thank you to our instructors/ assessors coach Larry Alag and coach George Salubre for your commitment. We appreciate your passion and dedication to PLS.

Stay updated for the 3rd batch training this year.
