The City Government of Valencia, under the leadership of Mayor Amie Galario and with the support of the 10th Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Greizl Galario-Fernandez, successfully conducted its first Drug-Free Workplace (DFWP) drug testing activity for 2026 on ๐—๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐Ÿฎ, ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฒ, in partnership with St. Vincent Ferrer Clinical Laboratory.

The activity reflects the cityโ€™s continuing efforts to implement the Drug-Free Workplace Ordinance and promote a safe, healthy, and productive working environment for government employees.

Personnel from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), City General Services Office (CGSO), City Traffic and Transportation Management Division (CTTMD), City Anti-Drugs and Special Unit Team (CADSUT), the Office of the Mayor, and backup personnel participated in the activity.

The drug testing activity was spearheaded by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), headed by Jean Dagacay; the Anti-Illegal Drugs and Substance Abuse Division (AIDSAD), headed by Giovanni C. Asis; and the City Health Office (CHO), headed by Atty. Michael Escalante, MD.

The initiative underscores the City Government of Valenciaโ€™s commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace, promoting employee welfare, and fostering professionalism, integrity, and public trust in local governance.

In line with the strengthened anti-illegal drug initiatives of City Mayor Hon. Amie G. Galario and City Vice Mayor Hon. Greizl Galario-Fernandez, the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) Coordinator, Mr. Giovanni C. Asis, attended the 2nd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC).

The meeting was presided over by Provincial Governor Hon. Rogelio Roque and was held at the DPWH 1st District Engineering Office in Malaybalay City.

The activity highlighted the provinceโ€™s continuing efforts to enhance peace and order and strengthen anti-drug programs through collaborative initiatives among local government units and partner agencies.

In line with the strengthened anti-illegal drug initiatives of City Mayor Amie G. Galario and City Vice Mayor Greizl Galario-Fernandez, the Anti-Illegal Drugs and Substance Abuse Division (AIDSAD), represented by Ms. Stefani Hufana, LPT, attended the Stakeholdersโ€™ Forum for Strategic and Sustainable Anti-Illegal Drugs Advocacy held at the Provincial Agriculture Office Training Center, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The forum featured discussions on key issues and strategies in addressing illegal drugs through the Buhay Ingatan, Drogaโ€™y Ayawan (BIDA) Program. Topics included the overview and updates of the BIDA Program and current issues and concerns of the youth in the drug situation in the Province of Bukidnon, presented by Frances Clare L. Alamban, Program Manager, DILG Bukidnon. It also covered aligning youth advocacy with local development plans by Dr. Richard Ian Mark T. Necosia, CPAG, BukSU, and strategic planning for sustainable BIDA initiatives by Mark Lyster Semortin, CPAG, BukSU. Further, Dr. Wilfred A. Martinez, CPAG, BukSU, discussed consolidating actions into policy-relevant outputs.

The forum concluded with an open forum and dialogue to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, followed by a workshop on commitment building and action planning.

In line with the strengthened anti-illegal drug initiatives of City Mayor Amie G. Galario and City Vice Mayor Greizl Galario-Fernandez, the Anti-Illegal Drugs and Substance Abuse Division (AIDSAD), in collaboration with Barangay Poblacion headed by Punong Barangay Hon. Antonio P. Zambrano, conducted a house visitation to CBDRP completers as part of their aftercare and reintegration program.

The activity aimed to update the status of the participants, check their current condition, and provide them with encouragement and support in their recovery journey. It also served as a way to strengthen their connection with the community and remind them that they are not alone as they continue working toward a drug-free and better life.
