The Municipality of Urbiztondo successfully conducted the Gender and Development (GAD) Sensitivity Training for CSOs and Cooperatives on March 5, 2026 at Café de Urbiztondo.

The session was highly productive and meaningful, made possible by the insightful discussion of Sir Alex T. Sevilla Jr. and the valuable assistance of Ma’am Melba Fernandez, whose expertise greatly enriched the learning experience of the participants. The active participation and engagement of our CSO and cooperative representatives also contributed to the success of the training.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Hon. Mayor Modesto M. Operania for his inspiring message and steadfast support to programs that promote gender equality and inclusive development in the municipality.
Our appreciation also goes to Hon. Councilor Joel M. Frias for delivering the welcome remarks and for continuously supporting initiatives that empower our CSOs and cooperatives.

📣 2-Day Training for Cooperatives Successfully Conducted in Urbiztondo! 🤝

The Cooperative Development Specialist of Urbiztondo, Pangasinan spearheaded a 2-day capacity-building training for various cooperatives in the municipality held on December 2–3, 2025 at the Regional Evacuation Center, Brgy. Batancaoa, Urbiztondo.

💡 This training aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and technical skills on bookkeeping, an important component in ensuring accurate records and smooth annual filing with the BIR.

📅 Day 1 Highlight:
Hon. Councilor Joel Frias delivered an encouraging message to the participants, emphasizing the vital role of cooperatives in community development.

📅 Day 2 Highlight:
Despite his busy schedule, Mayor Modesto Operania graciously spent time with the participants and shared an inspirational message, underscoring the importance of financial transparency and effective management within cooperatives.

COOPERATIVE MONTH 2025 CELEBRATION

Theme: “Cooperatives United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World.”

In celebration of Cooperative Month 2025, we conducted Tree Planting Activities that highlight the cooperative spirit of unity, action, and care for the environment.

The first activity took place at Daang Kalikasan, Mangatarem, joined by Cooperative Development Officers, cooperatives, and participants from different districts of Pangasinan — showcasing how cooperation goes beyond boundaries to promote sustainability.

Similar activities were also held in Urbiztondo, through the collaboration of the LGU of Urbiztondo through its Cooperative Development Specialist, and the Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO) across Brgys. Camanbugan, Bayaoas, Galarin, Balangay, and Batancaoa.

We thank Hon. MAYOR Modesto M. Operania, cooperatives, volunteers, and all participants for their unity and commitment to building a greener, better world. 🌳

Together, we plant not just trees, but seeds of hope, sustainability, and shared prosperity.

🌾🤝 URBIZTONDO LAUNCHES ITS FIRST MUNICIPAL COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (MCDC)! ❤️

A new milestone for the cooperative sector in Urbiztondo!
The Local Government Unit of Urbiztondo, in partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), successfully organized the Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) on October 7, 2025 — a vital step toward uniting and empowering local cooperatives.

The event was facilitated by Ms. Filipina H. Porio, Sr. CDS – CRITS, and Ms. Sheryl Lou Fabia, CDS II, both from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region I Extension Office, who guided the discussions on cooperative development and the organization of the MCDC.

Mr. Ellsworth Gonzales, Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Officer, delivered a meaningful and inspiring message, joined by Mr. Alex Sevilla Jr., Supervising CDS, and Ms. Florence Tongson, Project Development Assistant, both from the Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO), who also graced the event with their presence and support.

The activity also highlighted the election and oath-taking of MCDC officers, marking the formal establishment of the Council — a new platform for collaboration, consultation, and shared progress among cooperatives in the municipality.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Mayor Modesto M. Operania, for his unwavering support and steadfast commitment to cooperative programs — a true champion of people empowerment and inclusive growth in Urbiztondo.

🔹 Wish to establish a CSO
🔹 Are interested in becoming accredited
🔹 Would like to be included in the Updated Inventory and Directory of CSOs in our municipality
📌 All are encouraged to submit complete information about your organization to be included in the official list.
⏳ Submission deadline: July 17, 2025
📍 Submission process:
A) Proceed to the Mayor's Office and fill out a CSO inventory form. Look for Ms. Princess M. Fajilan; or
