SDS Estacio steers leaders toward bolder targets, better results

Schools Division Superintendent Melanie P. Estacio, PhD, CESO V charted the course for education leaders toward bolder targets and stronger results during the Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting for CY 2026, urging them to confront challenges through collaboration and strategic action.

Estacio called on leaders to rise above daunting targets, stressing, “Our targets may be high and the challenges may be complex, but high targets should not be a source of discouragement. They should challenge us to work smarter and work together.”

Meanwhile, the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) laid out the division’s performance, highlighting gains to sustain and areas requiring reinforced efforts to move the organization closer to its targets.

Digos schools simulate active attack safety drill

Schools around Digos City sprang into action, staging emergency response scenarios to test preparedness and response during the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents, Thursday.

The exercise activated school contingency plans and strengthened coordination among learners, teachers, school personnel, and emergency responders, reinforcing timely action and collective responsibility for school safety.

The activity was conducted pursuant to the Department of Education’s directives on the conduct of the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill, which promotes disaster preparedness and strengthens the protection of learners and personnel in schools.

DepEd Digos City Represented in Congressional Budget Consultation

DIGOS CITY — The Schools Division of Digos City was properly represented during the budget consultation held at the Congress, September 2, 2026, with Schools Division Superintendent Melanie P. Estacio and Congressman John Tracy F. Cagas in attendance.

The participation of the Digos City Schools Division in the consultation underscored its commitment to ensuring that the needs and priorities of schools and learners are considered in the budget planning process.

The consultation provided an avenue for education stakeholders and government leaders to discuss funding priorities and strengthen support for the delivery of quality education in the division.
