LGU-UBAY GOES DIGITAL

The Local Government Unit of Ubay launched its first e-Payment System yesterday which will give taxpayers the ability to pay their business tax, land tax and other dues via the Internet. The Municipal Treasurer' Office showcased the electronic system in collaboration with partner banks such as Landbank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

Present during the e-Payment Launching were the officials from Landbank: AVP Evelyn M. Justiniano (Head Cash Management Solutions Department), AVP Dexter Ruiz from Tagbilaran Branch, Ms. Ma. Gracia Galano (Talibon Branch Manager). DBP-Ubay Head Cashier Ms. Mary Ann Gabo, Provincial Treasurer Eustaquio Socorin, Municipal Treasurers of LGU-San Isidro, LGU-Trinidad, LGU-Bien Unido and focal persons from LGUs Talibon and San Miguel, the Barangay Captains and treasurers of the 44 barangays of Ubay, the business sector and department heads of LGU-Ubay were also present to witness the event.

All of the above-mentioned were welcomed by the Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of Ubay, Honorable Mayor Costantino H. Reyes. The mayor also congratulated the Municipal Treasurer Ms. Elizabeth Pabellan, CPA and her team for their effort in launching this kind of system

The e-Payment will improve our tax collection. And we are aiming to increase our local revenue using it. Once we hit our revenue target then soon Ubay will be qualified to become a Science City. CONGRATULATIONS to the Municipal Treasurer's Office for this great innovation. (MPIO)

The EODB law mandates the creation of the Electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS). This is supposed to automate business permitting and licensing systems allowing LGUs to issue tax bills, order of payments, permits, licenses and clearances and accept applications and payments electronically.
