A Sweet New Beginning for Ubay!

Today, June 1, 2026, marks another exciting milestone as Dunkin officially opens its doors in the Municipality of Ubay!

The grand opening was graced by Hon. Mayor Violeta D. Reyes, whose presence underscored the local government's support for business growth and economic development in the municipality. Adding excitement to the celebration was special guest Derek Ramsay, who joined the festivities and warmly welcomed the newest addition to Ubay's growing business community.

The opening of Dunkin not only brings everyone's favorite Dunkin treats closer to Ubayanons but also creates new opportunities for employment and local economic activity.

Congratulations to the Dunkin Ubay family on this successful opening! Here's to serving smiles, great coffee, and delicious treats to the people of Ubay for many years to come.

The Flag Raising Ceremony was held on May 25, 2026, at the Municipal Grounds of the Municipality of Ubay, led by Hon. Mayor Violeta D. Reyes together with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Hon. Constantino H. Reyes, Vice Mayor. The activity was attended by LGU officials and employees, representatives from various national government agencies, and men in uniform.

Following the ceremony, the Municipality of Ubay solemnly observed the 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 with the theme, “Remember. Advance. Act.” The activity served as a meaningful expression of solidarity and compassion for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Through the symbolic lighting of candles, participants honored the memory of lives lost, expressed support for those continuously fighting the disease, and strengthened public awareness on the importance of inclusivity, understanding, and collective action in eliminating stigma and discrimination within the community.

Also highlighted during the program was the presentation of the Certificate of Accreditation of the Ubay Municipal Employees League (UMEL) by the Civil Service Commission. The accreditation formally recognizes UMEL as the duly accredited employees’ organization of the Municipal Government of Ubay pursuant to existing civil service laws and regulations. This significant milestone underscores the municipality’s commitment to promoting employee welfare, strengthening collaboration between management and personnel, and fostering professionalism, unity, and excellence in public service.

The Municipality of Ubay remains steadfast in advancing programs and initiatives that uphold good governance, public awareness, and welfare.

The Municipality of Ubay celebrates another milestone in excellence and good governance as recipient of the 2026 PhALGA Excellence Award in Local Governance.

Conferred during the 21st Annual National Conference of the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (PhALGA) held on May 19–22, 2026 at Dakak Golf and Beach Resort, Dapitan City, this prestigious recognition honors Local Government Units that successfully attained the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for CY 2024.

This award reflects Ubay’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, excellence in public service, and responsible financial stewardship. It also recognizes the leadership of Hon. Violeta D. Reyes, Municipal Mayor, together with the Sangguniang Bayan led by Hon. Constantino H. Reyes, Vice Mayor, the dedication of Municipal Accountant Ma. Ellena L. With an outstanding 127.10% Collection Efficiency, the Municipality of Ubay continues to demonstrate excellence in revenue generation and fiscal management.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the leadership of Hon. Violeta D. Reyes, Municipal Mayor, together with the steadfast support of the Sangguniang Bayan under the leadership of Hon. Constantino H. Reyes, Vice Mayor. This accomplishment was further strengthened through the collaborative efforts of Municipal Treasurer Elizabeth D. Pabellan, Municipal Assessor Oliver Hardy Cutamora, and the dedicated local revenue, assessment, and treasury personnel who worked diligently to strengthen tax collection initiatives and advance the municipality’s financial sustainability programs.

The Municipality of Ubay participated in the discussion and orientation on the VCRI Guidelines under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Scale Up – I-REAP held last May 5, 2026 at the Office of the Mayor.

The activity aimed to strengthen collaboration and provide updates on enterprise development initiatives that support local farmers, fisherfolk, and community-based organizations through sustainable livelihood and agricultural development programs.
