The Engineer Support “Taga-Angkla” Company, 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade, Philippine Army, under the leadership of its higly supportive Commanding Officer, CPT JOY B FERNANDEZ (CE) PA, successfully conducted its Christmas Party on December 2, 2025. The event was highlighted by parlor games for children and dependents, the distribution of bundles of joy to personnel, an exchange of gifts, a simple boodle fight, and an exciting raffle draw, all of which fostered camaraderie and holiday cheer among the troops and their families.

Gracing the occasion, BGEN DARWIN F HERNANDEZ PA, Commander, 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade, Philippine Army expressed his appreciation for the unity and joy shared during the celebration, emphasizing the true essence of Christmas as a season of hope, love, and togetherness—especially for the children.

The activity reaffirmed the strong sense of family, compassion, and esprit de corps within the 54th Engineer Brigade.

The Engineer Support “Taga-Angkla” Company, 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade, Philippine Army proudly participated in the Coastal Clean-up Drive on 24 September 2025 at Barangay Logpond, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay. This meaningful activity was one of the highlights of the month-long celebration of the 125th Civil Service Month.

A total of 12 personnel from this unit took part in the clean-up activity, working hand-in-hand with fellow Uniformed Personnel, Local Government Units (LGUs), and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).

This initiative reflects the unit’s commitment to promote sustainable initiatives and support the government’s call for cleaner, healthier, and more resilient environment.

The Engineer Support “Taga-Angkla Company, 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade, Philippine Army participated in the Mangrove Tree Planting Activity in celebration of the 125th Civil Service Month at Barangay Masao, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay spearheaded by the Office of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resource Office (MENRO) on 24 September 2025.

Twenty (20) personnel of this unit took part of the Mangrove Tree Planting activity alongside with other Uniformed Personnel, Non-Government Organizations (NGO’s), and Local Government Units (LGU’s).

This activity aims to promote environmental protection and community engagement, while honoring the dedication and service of our civil servants. This noble undertaking will protect costal regions from erosions and storm as well as provide a healthy and safe habitat to numerous organisms.

Forging Ahead: ESC Enters a New Era of Leadership


Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province – The 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, conducted a Change of Command Ceremony for the Engineer Support Company (ESC) on 01 1000 August 2025 held at the Headquaters, ESC, 54EBde, PA, Brgy Tigbanuang, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province, signifying a key leadership transition. MAJOR ODNAMIR A RIMANDO (CE) PA formally turned over command to CAPTAIN JOY B FERNANDEZ (CE) PA in a ceremony presided over by COLONEL JOSE T TANIEGRA MNSA (CE) PA, Deputy Brigade Commander, representing BRIGADIER GENERAL DARWIN F HERNANDEZ PA, Commander of 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army.

COL TANIEGRA commended MAJ RIMANDO for his leadership, highlighting his accomplishments in improving operational readiness, mission ex*****on, and unit discipline. Under his command, the ESC effectively supported engineering operations and contributed to various brigade initiatives.

He also welcomed CPT FERNANDEZ, expressing full confidence in her capability to lead the ESC forward. He encouraged unit members to extend their support and cooperation as the company continues to play a vital role in engineering and combat service support operations in the joint operation area of the 54th Engineer Brigade.

The ceremony reflects the military’s tradition of orderly leadership transition and reinforces the Brigade’s commitment to excellence, service, and mission readiness under new leadership.
