Isa ito sa mga priority commodities ng Region II (Cagayan Valley), na nangunguna sa produksyon ng mais sa bansa. Nagbibigay ito ng kabuhayan sa maraming magsasaka at nagsisilbing pangunahing sangkap para sa livestock at poultry industry.

Upang suportahan ang mga commodities ng rehiyon, patuloy ang ๐ƒ๐€-๐๐‘๐ƒ๐ sa pagpapatupad ng mga subproject sa imprastraktura at enterprise development na naglalayong mapalakas ang agrikultura, mapataas ang kita ng mga magsasaka, at mapaunlad ang mga komunidad sa kanayunan.

Matagumpay na nagtapos ang apat na araw na โ€œTraining-Workshop on the Mainstreaming of the Materials Testing and Quality Control (MTQC) Tool into DA Regular Programs and LGUs with PRDP Scale-Up Subprojectsโ€ na isinagawa mula Mayo 19โ€“22, 2026 sa Balai Carmela, Tuguegarao City.

Ginawaran ng Certificate of Completion ang mga kalahok bilang pagkilala sa kanilang aktibong pakikilahok at matagumpay na pagdalo sa pagsasanay.

Layunin ng aktibidad na palawakin ang kaalaman at praktikal na kasanayan ng mga kalahok sa wastong pagsasagawa ng materials testing at quality control para sa mga horizontal at vertical structures. Sa pamamagitan nito, masisiguro ang pagsunod sa itinakdang standards at specifications tungo sa mas matibay, de-kalidad, at napapanatiling implementasyon ng mga proyektong imprastraktura sa buong rehiyon.

Nagsilbing resource speakers sina Engr. Jayson B. Tacazon, Engr. Jeffrey T. Babaran, at Engr. Abelardo D. Camayang Jr. mula sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 2.

| To ensure the success and durability of infrastructure subprojects being implemented under the DA-PRDP Scale-Up, the Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO 2), through the I-BUILD Component and Institutional Development Unit (IDU), facilitated a four-day Training-Workshop on the ๐Œ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐“๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ (๐Œ๐“๐๐‚) ๐“๐จ๐จ๐ฅ ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐ƒ๐€ ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‹๐†๐”๐ฌ with PRDP Scale-Up subprojects. The activity was held at Balai Carmela, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, from May 19โ€“22, 2026.

The activity aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively conduct material testing and quality control for horizontal and vertical structures, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications for stronger and more sustainable implementation of infrastructure subprojects across the region.

Mainstreaming the MTQC tool into DA regular programs is a strategic step toward institutionalizing quality assurance across all DA-funded infrastructure projects. This ensures consistent compliance with national engineering standards and safeguards government investments through the early detection of material deficiencies and enhances the durability and climate resilience of rural infrastructure.

Engr. Jayson B. Tacazon, Engr. Jeffrey T. Babaran, and Engr. Abelardo D. Camayang Jr. from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 2 served as resource persons throughout the training-workshop.

During the first day, Deputy Project Director Kay S. Olivas discussed the DA-PRDP Institutional Strengthening Action Plan (ISAP) to help participants understand strategies and initiatives that enhance organizational capacity, improve project implementation, and strengthen compliance with standards and procedures.

On the third day, participants underwent a laboratory workshop at the DPWH Region 2.
