ANG SABADO AY PARA SA BARKADA

Patuloy sa pakikiisa ang mga barangay sa Barangay sa Kalinisan Day o BARKADA, alinsunod sa pinaigting na programa ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Tuwing Sabado, sa halip na gumala, bitbit ng mga opisyal at manggagawa ng barangay ang mga walis, pala, at sako ng basura. Makikita sa mga larawan mula sa iba’t ibang barangay na masayang nagbayanihan ang mga barangay officials at workers upang linisin ang mga baradong kanal, tabing-kalsada, at mga pampublikong lugar sa kanilang mga nasasakupan.

Layunin ng programang BARKADA na mapanatili ang kalinisan upang maiwasan ang mga sakit at mapaganda ang kapaligiran ng bawat komunidad. Hinihikayat ang lahat na makiisa at maki-“BARKADA” tuwing Sabado, dahil ang malinis na kapaligiran ang unang hakbang tungo sa isang maunlad at masiglang barangay.

IBP CAGAYAN LAUNCHES E-LODI: VIRTUAL LAWYER OF THE DAY’ INITIATIVE

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) – Cagayan Chapter officially launched the E-LODI: Virtual Lawyer of the Day Initiative Project today, May 29, 2026, at Trent Hall, Balai Carmela, Tuguegarao City. This pioneering digital justice program marks as first in the entire Province of Cagayan, designed to leverage technology to bring accessible, real-time legal counsel straight to the grassroots level.

The event was attended by the Punong Barangays and Barangay Secretaries representing all 49 barangays of Tuguegarao City and Barangay Affairs Officer Gerald Valdez as the representative of the City Government.

Through the E-LODI platform, these local leaders will now have a direct virtual link to volunteer lawyers, ensuring that timely legal guidance is just a click away for their constituents enhancing the capability of the local Katarungang Pambarangay systems.

The Committee on Barangay Affairs and the Committee on Rules, Laws, and Ethics of the 10th City Council hold a joint meeting today, May 20, 2026, presided over by Hon. Jude Bayona with the presence of the Assistant Legal Officer Atty. Gerome Pagaliluan, Barangay Affairs Officer Gerald Valdez, and the Barangay Officials of Cataggaman Viejo as resource persons.

The committees are reviewing the resolution of Barangay Cataggaman Viejo to formally deputize barangay police as first responders and peacekeepers. Discussed also the resolution to regulate electric, cable, and telephone companies to fix messy utility lines for public safety and better connectivity and resolution for the creation of new roads within the Cataggaman area.

The committees also reviewed the barangay ordinance that establishes an identification system for ambulant and street vendors to better monitor local commerce.

MAS PINATIBAY NA KAALAMAN PARA SA BPATS at BADAC NG MGA BARANGAY

Sinimulan ngayong araw ang dalawang araw na pagsasanay para sa unang batch mula sa Northern and Eastern Barangays na mga miyembro ng Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATS) at Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) na programa ng Tuguegarao Component City Police Station katuwang ang Tuguegarao City Government. Layunin ng programang ito na mas itaas ang antas ng kanilang kaalaman at kasanayan sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa ating komunidad.

Nakatutok ang programa sa mga legal na aspekto at karapatan ng mamamayan. Tatalakayin dito ang mga mahahalagang bahagi ng Safe Spaces Act, ang eksaktong tungkulin at limitasyon ng mga peacekeepers, at ang mga legal na pamamaraan sa pagpapatupad ng batas tulad ng tamang proseso sa Citizen's Arrest at tamang pag-ayos ng mga maliliit na alitan sa barangay sa pamamagitan ng de-escalation at pag-refer ng mga kaso sa Lupong Tagapamayapa.

Ipagpapatuloy naman sa ikalawang araw ang mga praktikal na kasanayan para sa kaligtasan ng publiko. Nagkaroon ng malalimang pagtalakay sa kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga at kung paano matutulungan ang mga nagbalik-loob sa lipunan. Sasailalim din ang mga kalahok sa aktwal na pagsasanay sa pag-iwas sa krimen, tamang paghuli gamit ang posas, pag-detect ng mga pekeng pera, at mga emergency response tulad ng First Aid at CPR.

Sa tulong ng training na ito, mas handa at mas may sapat nang kakayahan ang ating mga lokal na tagapamayapa na protektahan at paglingkuran ang buong barangay.

Nagbigay naman ng mga mensahe sina Chief of Police PltCol Garry Matagay, CLGOO Dindo Calabazaron III at Barangay Affairs Officer Gerald Valdez bilang kinatawan ni City Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que.

The Committee on Appropriations and Committee on Barangay Affairs convened today for a meeting presided over by City Councilor Jude Bayona. The body deliberated on Cataggaman Nuevo’s proposed ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Conferring an Exemplary Public Service Award and Granting Cash Incentives to Barangay Officials and Other Functionalities Who Have Rendered At Least Ten (10) Years of Service, and Providing Funds Therefore," with Barangay Kagawad Iggy Zingapan present to represent the barangay.

Additionally, the joint committee reviewed the Revised Barangay Tax Revenue Code of Barangay Centro 10, represented by Punong Barangay Mariano Baylon.

Present also were CLGOO Dindo Calabazaron, City Treasurer Buenaventura Lagundi and Barangay Affairs Officer Gerald Valdez as resource persons.

Both measures aim to strengthen local governance, update revenue policies, and properly recognize the dedication of our long serving barangay workers.

TINGNAN || Dinagsa ng mga residente ng Barangay Atulayan Norte ang mga ibinabang iba’t ibang serbisyo ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod ng Tuguegarao sa pamamagitan ng Barangay People’s Day ngayong Sabado, Mayo 2.

Kabilang sa mga pinilahan ang libreng medical check-up, kasama ng libreng gamot, libreng gupit, manicure, pedicure at seated massage, libreng assorted vegetable seeds at seedlings, pagbibigay ng libreng anti rabies vaccine, dog food, civil registration sa LCR, legal services, pamamahagi ng food packs at maraming iba pa.

Nakiisa rin ang ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo, gaya ng COMELEC, PSA, PNP, BFP, PHILHEALTH, PAG-IBIG maging ang Cagelco 1, at MTWD para sa bayarin sa kuryente at tubig.
