June 4, 2026 โ The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office II (CHEDRO II) successfully convened the 2nd Regional Meeting of the Research and Innovation Cluster via Google Meet. The virtual gathering was attended by a college president, vice presidents for research, research directors, research focal persons, and other institutional representatives from 31 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the Cagayan Valley Region, reflecting the regionโs collective commitment to strengthening research capabilities, fostering innovation, and advancing scholarly productivity.
A major highlight of the meeting was the official launching of Project GIGIAMMUAN: Accelerating Research Productivity and Scholarly Publication in Region II HEIs, a flagship regional initiative aimed at strengthening the research ecosystem of Higher Education Institutions in Cagayan Valley. The project seeks to enhance research productivity by developing faculty research competencies, fostering inter-institutional collaboration, improving institutional research support systems, and increasing the quality, visibility, and utilization of research outputs in support of academic excellence, accreditation, and regional development.
Project GIGIAMMUAN is anchored on several strategic programs and initiatives designed to advance research excellence across the region:
