𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗡𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝘇𝗰𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 ₱𝟭.𝟭𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗗𝗟𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – Thirty-five persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and informal workers received livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO) through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) during a Business and Work Improvement Course (BWIC) and livelihood kit awarding ceremony on August 25, 2026 at the Provincial Jail Multipurpose Hall, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Worth ₱1,155,000, the livelihood kits contained materials for 18 different types of small enterprises, including graphic design and printing, electrical services, karinderya, sari-sari stores, and other income-generating activities. The assistance was tailored to the proposed livelihood projects of the beneficiaries to help them start, improve, or expand their sources of income.

The activity was led by DOLE-NVFO Provincial Head Elizabeth U. Martinez, together with DILP Focal Person Marietta B. Calpo, Agatha Christy Garcia, and May-an Antonio, in coordination with partner agencies and the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗯: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗦 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

Being the youngest in the family, Angelica Cheryl B. Algeria of Barangay, La Torre, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya grew up watching her older siblings chase their dreams while witnessing the sacrifices her family made to keep all of them in school.

Encouraged by her mother, Cheryl joined SPES in 2015 and 2016, seeing it as an opportunity to earn while preparing for college and helping her family. She later pursued BS Accountancy, a challenging course chosen by her family. Despite the pressure, Cheryl persevered and continued moving forward.

At 27, Cheryl remembers how difficult it was to be the “bunso” when several siblings were studying at the same time, especially when their courses came with expensive tuition and growing expenses. She knew her family was doing everything they could, but there were moments when she could not help but compare her life with classmates who seemed to have more freedom to afford the things they wanted.

ALCALA, Cagayan – More than ₱1.2 million worth of livelihood assistance was awarded to skilled beneficiaries in Alcala, Cagayan as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continues to bring employment and livelihood opportunities closer to vulnerable sectors in the community.

The activity forms part of the continuing efforts of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to advance the Trabaho Agad program and provide livelihood assistance to vulnerable sectors to help generate employment and income.

Through the leadership of DOLE Region 2 Regional Director Imelda E. Romanillos and Cagayan Field Office Head Laura B. Diciano, the Department distributed more than ₱1.2 million worth of livelihood assistance to one association engaged in bread and pastry production, 13 parents of child laborers, 39 individual beneficiaries, and three to***co farmers and growers.

𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 ₱𝟮.𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶, 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗻

APARRI, Cagayan – More than 1,000 residents of Aparri, Cagayan benefited from various programs and services delivered by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cagayan Field Office during the Serbisyo Caravan held at the Aparri Municipal Gymnasium.

The activity is part of DOLE’s continuing efforts to bring government programs and services closer to Filipino workers and communities, under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino.
Through the leadership of DOLE Region 2 Regional Director Imelda E. Romanillos and Cagayan Field Office Head Laura B. Diciano, the Department awarded ₱1.2 million worth of livelihood assistance to 35 skilled beneficiaries, including 25 parents and guardians of child laborers.

Meanwhile, ₱1.3 million in stipend was distributed to 289 beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), with each student-beneficiary receiving ₱4,601.84.
The Serbisyo Caravan also facilitated the profiling and interview of 691 applicants for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. Orientation and profiling activities were likewise conducted for child laborers and their families.

An orientation for workers’ associations was also held during the activity, resulting in the organization of two associations with a total of 84 members.

In her message, RD Romanillos provided an overview of DOLE’s programs and services and reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to bringing its assistance closer to workers and communities in Cagayan.

“Asahan niyo pong patuloy ang pagbuhos ng serbisyo at programa sa bayan ng Aparri,” RD Romanillos said, emphasizing DOLE’s continued efforts to ensure that its programs and services reach those who need them most. #
