Cagayan State University (CSU) has renewed its registration as a publisher for both print and online formats for the fourth consecutive time. The certification, granted by the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and valid until April 30, 2027, was signed by Executive Director Charisse Aquino-Tugade in line with Republic Act No. 8047.
With this renewal, CSU remains authorized to publish books, journals, learning materials, and other academic resources. As part of its strengthened publishing initiatives, the university has also secured an ISSN for its institutional campus journal, marking an important step in advancing CSUโs scholarly publication portfolio and demonstrating its growing capacity to produce peer-reviewed academic outputs.
The university continues to support knowledge production by publishing works from its faculty, students, and researchers, strengthening its core functions in instruction, research, extension, and production. CSU has also been conducting workshops to guide faculty and students through the publishing process, further institutionalizing a culture of research and publication.
These initiatives directly contribute to the attainment of SUC Levelling targets, particularly KRA 3.3.3, Number of research outputs/creative works published, presented, exhibited, or utilized, by strengthening the universityโs capacity to generate and disseminate scholarly outputs through a recognized institutional publishing platform.
This fourth consecutive renewal reinforces CSUโs credibility and institutional capacity as a knowledge-producing university. It ensures sustained visibility of CSU-generated research in both national and international platforms, increasing opportunities for citations, collaborations, and academic recognition. It also empowers faculty and student researchers by providing a legitimate and institutionally supported avenue for publication, thereby contributing to improved research productivity and institutional performance.
The continued accreditation signifies CSUโs commitment to quality assurance and compliance with national publishing standards. It positions the university as a reliable publisher capable of expanding its portfolio of research-based outputs.
