𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗦𝗥𝗜 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 ✨

May 11, 2026—The DA-PhilRice Negros team headed by Mr. Rene Valdez successfully conducted the Baseline and Seasonal Monitoring for the NRP – System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Technology Demonstration in the municipality.

The activity focused on gathering outcome data and other essential field information from identified SRI farmer-adoptors to support the monitoring and evaluation of the SRI technology demonstrations. The data gathering included the collection and validation of the farmers’ 2024 and 2025 farm data, which will serve as basis in assessing the impact and effectiveness of the SRI technology implementation.

During the activity, the SRI farmer-adoptors served as interviewees and shared their experiences, farming practices, and observations regarding the adoption of the technology in their respective farms.

In addition, Mr. Dexter Balboa conducted an interview with the assigned SRI Focal Person to assess the challenges encountered in the implementation of the program, evaluate the overall impact of SRI in the municipality, and discuss the future plans and directions for the continued promotion and expansion of the SRI technology.

This initiative reflects the continued partnership between DA-PhilRice Negros and the Municipal Agriculture Office in promoting sustainable farming practices and improving rice productivity among local farmers.

The Local Government Unit spearheaded by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Roquito G. Tacsagon extends its gratitude to all participating farmers and partner agencies for the cooperation and support in the successful conduct of the activity.

The 15th Adlaw sang Mangunguma stands as a vibrant tribute to the hardworking farmers who serve as the backbone of the community. Anchored on this year’s theme, “𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑚𝑎: 𝑃𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑠𝑦𝑜𝑛 𝑘𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝐾𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑤𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑛 𝑠𝑎 𝐵𝑎𝑛𝑤𝑎,” the celebration highlights the vital role of farmers as the foundation of progress and development in the municipality.

This year’s celebration gathered farmers, local officials, partner agencies, and stakeholders in a meaningful event filled with activities that highlighted the importance of agriculture in everyday life. It served not only as a day of recognition but also as a platform for learning, collaboration, and empowerment among members of the farming sector.

One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of outstanding farmers and agricultural achievers who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and leadership in their respective fields. Their inspiring stories reflect the strength and determination of the agricultural community, encouraging others to strive for progress and sustainability.

Adding color and cultural pride to the celebration were the Binalaybay and Composo Contest, which highlighted the creativity and artistic talents of the community. The Binalaybay contest gave participants the opportunity to express their love for agriculture through poetry, delivering powerful pieces that reflected the struggles, hopes, and triumphs of farmers. Meanwhile, the Composo contest showcased original musical compositions that celebrated rural life, farming traditions, and the enduring spirit of the 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑚𝑎. These contests not only entertained the audience but also deepened appreciation for agriculture through art and storytelling.

Another exciting highlight was the “Pinaka” Contest of Farmers’ Produce, where participants proudly showcased their largest, best-quality, and most outstanding agricultural products. This friendly competition highlighted the abundance and excellence of local produce, while also recognizing the dedication, proper farming practices, and hard work of farmers in achieving high-quality harvests. It served as a source of pride and inspiration for the agricultural community.

The celebration was further enlivened by the raffle draw, which brought joy and anticipation to participants. Generous sponsors from both within and outside the municipality contributed a variety of prizes, making the activity even more meaningful and memorable. The raffle not only added excitement to the celebration but also showcased the strong support and solidarity of partners and stakeholders who continue to uplift and recognize the invaluable role of farmers in the community.

The 15th Adlaw sang Mangunguma reminds everyone of the vital role farmers play in nourishing the nation. As challenges in agriculture continue to evolve, this celebration reinforces the commitment of the community and its leaders to support and uplift the lives of farmers—ensuring a more productive, sustainable, and food-secure future for all.

Indeed, this annual event is more than just a celebration—it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the men and women who tirelessly cultivate the land and feed the people.

𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗦, 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬: 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗬 & 𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗨𝗕𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡 ✨

In celebration of the 4th Tubong Pets Day, a successful Spaying and Neutering Activity was conducted to promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership in the community.

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Provincial Veterinary Office, headed by Dr. Darel Tabuada, and the strong support and facilitation of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) and Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Office of LGU Tubungan.

A total of 20 pets were successfully served during the activity:
🐶 Male Dog: 12
🐱 Male Cat: 3
🐶 Female Dog: 4
🐱 Female Cat: 1

This effort helps control the pet population, prevents unwanted litters, and promotes healthier lives for the beloved companions.

We sincerely thank all pet owners, partners, and organizers for their active participation and support. Together, let us continue to build a more compassionate and responsible Tubungan for both people and animals.

𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗧 : ₱1𝗠 𝗞𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗪𝗔 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗧𝗨𝗕𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡 ✨

A meaningful step forward for agricultural development as the Local Government Unit of Tubungan (LGU Tubungan) officially received the KADIWA Financial Grant Assistance Program amounting to ₱1,000,000.00. This support underscores the continued commitment to uplift the lives of our farmers and strengthen the local food supply chain within the municipality.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Mayor Roquito G. Tacsagon, who personally received the grant on behalf of LGU Tubungan. His presence highlights the municipality’s dedication to advancing programs that directly benefit local farmers, producers, and the wider community.

The financial assistance will be utilized as an additional capitalization to purchase locally produced agricultural commodities from farmers within the municipality. These products will then be brought to various KADIWA exhibits and marketing outlets, ensuring that fresh, affordable, and quality goods reach consumers while providing farmers with a stable and reliable market.

Through this initiative, farmers are given greater opportunities to increase their income, reduce post-harvest losses, and actively participate in a more inclusive and sustainable agricultural economy. At the same time, consumers benefit from access to reasonably priced and locally sourced food products.

This milestone would not be possible without the strong collaboration of partner agencies and stakeholders especially the Department of Agriculture – Western Visayas who continuously support programs that empower our farming communities. Their efforts play a vital role in driving inclusive growth and long-term food security.

Together, let us move towards a more resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural future for Tubungan!
