Tubod RHU Gamot Facility Receives PhilHealth Accreditation

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte โ€” The Lanao del Norte Tubod RHU Gamot Facility located in Poblacion, Tubod has officially received its PhilHealth Certificate of Accreditation as a Pharmacy under the PhilHealth Gamot Package.

The accreditation, granted by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Regional Office X on May 13, 2026, is valid from April 10, 2026 until December 31, 2028.

This accreditation strengthens the municipalityโ€™s healthcare services by ensuring better access to affordable medicines and PhilHealth-supported health benefits for Tubod residents.

Tubod MDRRMC Holds 2nd Quarter Full Council Meeting; Tackles Panguil Bay Red Tide Crisis, Proposed 2027 DRRM Programs, Infrastructure Projects, and Emergency Response Innovations

PAMAHALAANG BAYAN NG TUBOD โ€” The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Tubod conducted its 2nd Quarter Full Council Meeting to discuss environmental concerns, disaster preparedness initiatives, and proposed resiliency programs for the municipality.

The meeting held on May 28, 2026 at the Legislative Hall was presided over by Municipal Mayor Dionisio โ€œJimmyโ€ Y. Cabahug Jr., tackled updates on the Panguil Bay Fish Kill and Red Tide Incident presented by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), including the ongoing monitoring and response efforts for affected coastal communities and fisherfolk.

The MDRRMO also presented the proposed activities for the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this July 2026, which include disaster preparedness campaigns, trainings, drills, and information dissemination activities.

Another highlight of the meeting was the presentation and deliberation of the proposed 2027 DRRM Annual Investment Plan (AIP), which includes projects on flood mitigation, drainage construction, maintenance of early warning systems and CCTV equipment, DRRM information materials, and insurance coverage for DRRM volunteers and facilities.

The council also discussed the proposed establishment of an Integrated DRRM Warehouse for stockpiling emergency supplies, as well as the proposed acquisition of a customized heavy rescue and response vehicle to strengthen emergency operations in the municipality.

Mayor Cabahug emphasized the need to prioritize practical disaster preparedness projects, stating, โ€œAng suggestion nako is unahon ang warehouse for 2027, tapos ang mga machine and other major equipment mahimong i-consider sa 2028.โ€

LGU Tubod Distributes Food Assistance to Fisherfolk Affected by Red Tide and Fish Kill Incident

PAMAHALAANG BAYAN NG TUBOD โ€” Under the directive of Mayor Dionisio โ€œJimmyโ€ Y. Cabahug, Jr., the Local Government Unit of Tubod, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), distributed boxes of food items from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to fisherfolk affected by the red tide and fish kill incident in the Panguil Bay area of Tubod.

A total of 501 registered fisherfolk from Barangays Poblacion, Pigcarangan, and Tanguegiron received the food assistance on May 28, 2026, as part of the governmentโ€™s immediate response to support families whose livelihoods were affected by the ongoing environmental situation.

RHU Tubod Holds Mass Measurement Month Activity to Promote Healthy Lifestyle

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte โ€” The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tubod conducted its Mass Measurement Month activity on May 25, 2026, at the 2nd Floor RHU Building in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle practices and raising awareness on non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

The activity gathered some residents, and health workers for a series of health lectures, assessments, and wellness discussions focused on disease prevention, proper nutrition, and healthy living. Among the highlights of the program were lectures on healthy lifestyle, nutrition advisory, and the importance of regular monitoring of blood pressure and random blood sugar (RBS).

In her welcome message, Ms. Cholie Mae C. Lahoylahoy, RN, emphasized that the annual observance of Mass Measurement Month every May serves as a way to help residents become more aware of non-communicable diseases and the importance of early prevention and healthy habits.

Meanwhile, Nutritionist-Dietitian Ms. Alzenjoan J. Icalina discussed proper nutrition through the โ€œPinggang Pinoyโ€ concept, encouraging participants to practice moderation, consume more vegetables and fruits, limit sugar intake, and maintain balanced meals. She also stressed the importance of exercise, healthy food choices, and lifestyle discipline to prevent illnesses.

Municipal Mayor Dionisio Y. Cabahug, Jr. also delivered a message of support, encouraging residents to remain physically active, avoid unhealthy vices, and prioritize their health through proper lifestyle practices. Sharing his personal experience, the mayor emphasized the value of regular exercise, productive living, and discipline in maintaining good health.

โ€œAng akong tambal para sa akong lawas kay magpasingot gyud ko matag adlaw. Dili ta pwede magsige lang og lingkod. Kinahanglan mulihok ta para magpabiling himsog ug malikayan ang sakit,โ€ Mayor Cabahug said.

The mayor also reminded the public to avoid smoking, illegal drugs, and unhealthy habits while continuously working towards improving their lives and well-being.

The activity also included PhilPEN assessment, blood pressure monitoring, random blood sugar testing, and the re-activation of health-related club activities as part of the municipalityโ€™s continuing campaign for a healthier town of Tubod.

The Department of Criminology of Tubod College recently held a Thanksgiving and Testimonial Ceremony honoring the successful passers of the August 2025 and February 2026 Criminologist Licensure Examination (CLE).

Dr. Cherry Marie C. Paclipan delivered an inspirational message highlighting the importance of faith, perseverance, courage, and determination in achieving success, while Nelly M. Pepito congratulated the passers and recognized the sacrifices of their families.
