๐Training of Trainers on Barangay Drug Clearing Program and Drug-Free Workplace
In a bid to foster safer and healthier communities, the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-BARMM), conducted a comprehensive two-day Training of Trainers. The activity, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Barangay Drug Abuse Council Chairpersons, Chiefs of Police (COPs), Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs), Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) focal persons, Municipal Health Officers (MHOs), and Municipal Social Services and Development Officers (MSSDOs) took place on December 4-5, 2024, at Sapadan Cafe and Resort in Marawi City.
Provincial Information Office Administrative Officer IV Abdul Miikhael Balindong, representing Information Officer and PADAC Secretary General Salma Jayne Tamano, delivered the opening remarks. He thanked everyone for supporting the program and expressed hope that the province will be free from illegal drugs. Balindong emphasized the importance of community involvement in the fight against substance abuse, urging local leaders to take an active role. As he concluded, he called for unity among all stakeholders to create a safer and healthier environment for future generations.
The training program focused on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP), drug-free workplace initiatives, and advocacy strategies. Participants were equipped with essential knowledge and skills to become effective trainers, thereby broadening the initiative's reach within their respective municipalities, including Tubaran, Sultan Dumalondong, and Poona Bayabao.
