March 24, 2026 | Tubajon, Dinagat Islands โ The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through Negosyo Center Tubajon, participated in the closing program of the National Womenโs Month Celebration held at the San Roque Gym in Barangay San Roque. This marked the successful conclusion of activities conducted across all nine barangays of the municipality from March 9 to 16, 2026.
The month-long initiative was organized in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), led by Anhalou T. Ebol-Bagacay, RSW, and in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) โ MOO Tubajon - Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, represented by Jennifher A. Sarsale, PDO II, and Shiela Dane J. Rafols, PDO II.
A main highlight of the celebration was the Barangay-Wide Gender Sensitivity and Women Empowerment Advocacy Campaign, which engaged women from various sectors, including 4Ps beneficiaries. The initiative aimed to promote gender equality, enhance womenโs participation in community development, and foster inclusivity in socio-economic opportunities.
As part of the inter-agency effort, DTIโNegosyo Center Tubajon conducted a Financial Literacy for Women session, facilitated by Junior Business Counselor Bamboo Y. Montilla. The session focused on practical financial management strategies such as budgeting, savings, and responsible spending, equipping participants with tools to better manage household finances and avoid unnecessary debt.
Participants were also introduced to basic entrepreneurial concepts, encouraging them to explore small business ventures as potential sources of additional income. In line with this, DTI-NC explained its core services, including business name registration, entrepreneurial mentoring, skills training, and access to market opportunitiesโsupport mechanisms designed to help women start and sustain their own businesses.
The campaign further highlighted the vital role of women in driving economic growth and community development. It emphasized that empowering women results in stronger families and more resilient communities, contributing significantly to local progress and nation-building.
With the conclusion of the National Womenโs Month activities, the DTI through Negosyo Center Tubajon reaffirmed its commitment to advancing womenโs empowerment through inclusive programs, ongoing capacity-building, and accessible services aimed at enabling women to thrive as entrepreneurs and community leaders.
