INHS Conducts Safety and Awareness Orientation for Grades 11 and 12
Itawes National High School held a comprehensive orientation program for Grade 11 and Grade 12 students yesterday, June 11, 2026, at the INHS gymnasium.
The orientation was facilitated by three registered criminologists namely; Police Corporal Ryan Asuncion, Patrolwoman Shanice Nicole R. Andres, and
Patrolman Karl Malone Licupa, who served as resource speakers for the day to provide students with practical knowledge on safety, discipline, and civic awareness.
Furthermore, Pat Licupa opened the session with a discussion on earthquake preparedness and drills, orienting the students on proper response during seismic events, including the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique, and reviewed evacuation routes and assembly areas designated within the school campus.
Following this, Pat Andres addressed bullying issues in school. She discussed the different forms of bullying, physical, verbal and cyber, and their impact on studentsโ mental health and academic performance.
Moreover, she also encouraged students to report incidents and practice respect and empathy toward their peers.
To add, PCpl Asuncion concluded the program with a talk on terrorism and national security. He showed educational videos about the New Peopleโs Army and other related groups to help students understand the nature of these threats.
Concluding the orientation, all three lecturers also reminded students that knowledge of emergency procedures and awareness of social issues are vital skills beyond the classroom.
