After a rigorous selection process and securing a prestigious Top 3 spot at the Congressional Level, HNHS has officially advanced to the highly anticipated Provincial Level Evaluation of the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP).

Today, March 18,2026, the school welcomes the evaluators from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Province of Bohol, to witness firsthand the dedication poured into every seed and furrow. The evaluation is not just about the size of the harvest; it is a comprehensive look at how the school integrates organic farming, waste management, and nutritional education into the lives of its students.

The journey to the provincial stage is a testament to the collaborative spirit of the HNHS community. Teachers, students, and parents have worked hand-in-hand to cultivate a garden that serves as a living laboratory.

The spirit of sustainability and shared responsibility flourished at Hinlayagan National High School as it proudly presented to the evaluators of the CD-2 Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) on March 3, 2026.
Nestled in the heart of Trinidad II District, the school stood not only as a center of learning but as a living testament to how education and agriculture can harmoniously thrive together.

The Gulayan sa Paaralan Program, an initiative of the Department of Education, continues to champion food security, environmental awareness, and nutrition among learners.

During the CD-2 evaluation, Hinlayagan NHS showcased more than just rows of thriving vegetables—it presented a story of collaboration, resilience, and purposeful innovation. Teachers, students, parents, and community stakeholders worked hand in hand to cultivate gardens that serve both as a source of nourishment and as an experiential learning space.
The evaluation team meticulously assessed sustainability practices, crop diversity, resource management, student involvement, and the integration of gardening into the curriculum. From organic fertilizers and composting systems to well-planned crop rotation strategies, the school demonstrated its commitment to environmentally responsible practices. Students confidently explained planting techniques, shared insights on proper nutrition, and reflected on how the program nurtured their sense of responsibility and teamwork.
What set Hinlayagan NHS apart in the rural category was its strong community engagement. The garden was not merely a project—it was a shared mission. Local partners extended support through materials and technical guidance, while parents volunteered their time to ensure the garden’s consistent maintenance. The harvests contributed to the school’s feeding program, reinforcing the program’s goal of combating malnutrition while fostering self-sufficiency.
The atmosphere during the evaluation was filled with pride and optimism. Vibrant plots of leafy greens, root crops, and fruit-bearing plants symbolized growth beyond agriculture—growth in leadership, discipline, and environmental stewardship among learners. The evaluators commended the school’s organized documentation, innovative layout, and measurable impact on students’ health and awareness.
Emerging as one of the winners in the rural category, Hinlayagan National High School proved that excellence blooms where dedication is deeply rooted. The recognition affirms that even in rural settings, schools can lead transformative initiatives that address real-world challenges.
More than an award, the victory represents a collective achievement. It highlights how schools, when united by vision and guided by commitment, can cultivate not only gardens but also empowered and environmentally conscious citizens. In Hinlayagan NHS, the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program is not simply planted in soil—it is planted in hearts, shaping a greener and more sustainable future for Trinidad II District.

IN PHOTOS|| A "STEP" in the right direction for our Grade 12 learners at Hinlayagan National High School.

This event is all about transition and growth. Since it's a "Systematic Training for Exploration & Planning" (STEP) for Grade 12 students, the vibe is a mix of ambition and readiness for the "real world".

Hinlayagan NHS empowers Seniors through STEP Career Guidance Program. In a proactive effort to prepare its impending graduates for the complexities of post-secondary life, Hinlayagan National High School conducted the Systematic Training for Exploration & Planning (STEP), a comprehensive Career Guidance Program for Grade 12 students, held on Monday, February 23, 2025.

The day-long event, was designed to provide seniors with a structured roadmap for their future career paths.

Vicenta B. Autentico, the School Guidance Designate, officially opened the proceedings with a welcome address that underscored the importance of intentional planning.

The core of the program featured a series of intensive career guidance talks led by SHS faculty experts.

Following the lectures, an Open Forum allowed students to engage directly with the speakers, addressing specific concerns regarding college applications, vocational opportunities, and employment hurdles.

As these Grade 12 students approach graduation, the STEP program serves as a critical bridge, ensuring that the "Hinlayaganon" spirit is matched by a clear, systematic plan for the future.
