"The Twin Engine," 19-year-old twins Karl Patanpatan, the Middle-Distance Engine, and Francis Patanpatan, the Speed Merchant, are making waves in Philippine athletics. The talented duo, sons of Ma'am Marilou and Thomas Segovia, trace their roots to Trinidad, Bohol, before relocating to Texas. Recently, they signed an agreement under Philippine Athletics and will proudly represent the Philippines and their hometown of Trinidad as members of the Philippine National Team in the 4x400-meter Relay at the upcoming Philippine National Open on June 10–14, 2026. Their homecoming is a proud moment for the community as they continue to showcase their talent on the national stage.
