📢 JUST IN: DepEd Issues Updated Qualification Standards for Teaching and School Principal Positions

The Department of Education (DepEd) has officially released DepEd Order No. 019, s. 2025, titled “Amended Qualification Standards for Teacher I-III, Master Teacher I-IV, and School Principal I-IV Positions, and the Qualification Standards for the Newly Created Teacher IV-VII and Master Teacher V Positions.”

This Order aims to align the qualification standards (QS) with the Expanded Career Progression System under Executive Order No. 174, s. 2022, ensuring merit-based, competency-driven, and inclusive advancement opportunities for teachers and school leaders.

The updated QS now covers:

• Teacher I to VII
• Master Teacher I to V
• School Principal I to IV

The policy provides the education, training, experience, and eligibility requirements to guide recruitment, selection, promotion, and reclassification processes at all governance levels.
