INTERVIEW WITH THE APPLICANTS

Oct. 8, 2026 @ 2:O0 P.M. Public Order and Safety Mngt. Office and Traffic and Transportation Mngt. Office headed by Ret. Col. Uldarico Garbanzos, together with Cyril Octavio (Chief Opn.) and Richard Tupas (Asst. Chief Opn.) POSMO, Rolando Hollero (ECU-Chief Opn.), Myra Jane Leuterio (Senior Transportation Regulation Officer, TTMO) Liza Villanueva (Admin TTMO) conducted briefing prior to the actual interview of the new applicants aiming to be hired under POSMO and TTMO Personnel under Iloilo City Government.

The applicants were screened thoroughly and were asked regarding their personal information. They were also asked different situation and scenarios to test their perspective and standing about the situation.

The purpose of interview is to test, validate the knowledge, skills, suitability in the desired position applying for it.

CLEARING OPERATIONS IN Q. ABETO ST., MANDURRIAO

Oct. 8, 2026 @ 9:00 A.M. Cyril Octavio (Chief Opn.) and Richard Tupas (Asst. Chief Opn.) POSMO, together with Rolando Hollero (ECU-Chief Opn.) and Orlando Organia (ECU Supervisor), POSMO-RRU, ECU, ECU Rider, and PNP Personnel, conducted clearing operations against on-road parking and colorum in Q. Abeto, Mandurriao. Sidewalk vendors obstructing the road shoulder were also cleared.

Through this initiative, we promote proactive public safety measures and community awareness towards a sustainable and orderly traffic system.

As a result, 29 units were issued citation tickets, 2 units were issued LTO tickets, 6 units were impounded, and 23 units were clamped.

POSMO and ECU are consistently working towards an accessible and safer roads for everyone in Iloilo City.

POSMO AND TTMO PARTICIPATED IN BFP SIMEX

Oct. 7, 2026 @ 4:00 P.M. Public Order and Safety Mngt. Office (POSMO) and Traffic and Transportation Mngt. Office (TTMO), together with Cyril Octavio (Chief Opn.) and Richard Tupas (Asst. Chief Opn.), Rolando Hollero (ECU-Chief Opn.), POSMO, ECU, ECU Rider, City Proper TE, ICPO, and Brgy. Officials of Brgy. Ortiz led by PB Shiela Doza and PB Madonna Martin (City Proper ABC President), jointly participated in the ICDRRMO simulation exercise. The just concluded activity spearheaded by BFP held at Brgy. Ortiz, City Proper.

The purpose of this is to test and validate the operational readiness, plan of action, and real time responses incase real crisis will happen.

This Simulation Exercise scenario was a residential fire in the barangay. The BFP responded first to the scene, then followed by other responding participating agencies. A casualty were taken carefully by the medical team. The ex*****on of each participating unit is swiftly done and highly appreciated with remarkable rating of very satisfactory in handling the situaton.

The BFP gave his positive comment regarding the traffic schemes used during the fire incident.

Critique from the observers and invited guests was conducted to evaluate the operational lapses, communication gaps, protocol, and interoperability of each participants for improvement.

Through this initiative, emergency responders will develop their skills, enhanced their knowledge suitable to complex crises and capability in handling crisis accidents for a resilient Iloilo City.

We, in POSMO, are leading into whole of govenment approached in dealing with public safety to ensure a people centered towards a safer community in Iloilo City.

MEETING FOR TASK FORCE HOT MEAT

Oct. 7, 2026 @ 11:00 A.M. Cyril Octavio (Chief Opn., POSMO), attended meeting for Task Force Hot Meat with Maricel Mabaquiao (Dept. Head, LEEO), Dr. Fernando Abulencia (City Veterenarian), Dr. Eugenie Mark Taus and Marylaine Dionne Santos (NMIS REDION 6) held at City Admin Office, 7th Floor, Iloilo City Hall.

Discussed were:
●Task Force hot meat
●Road side vendors
●Sanitary
●Meat consciousness week
●Standard facility in vending pork
●Treatment for confiscated meat and materials used in vending pork
●Other matters

To support Rise To Action Program, POSMO and TTMO cordially conducted inter-agency coordination in ensuring a safe meat products for a livable Iloilo City.

The Bureau of Fire Protection- Iloilo City Fire Station will lead this week's Full-Scale Simulation Exercise (FSX) in coordination with Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Iloilo City Police Office, and the Iloilo City Public Safety Office on October 7, 2026, 4:00 PM at Brgy. Ortiz City Proper.

The public is advised that traffic flow in the area may experience temporary slowdowns and minor movements during the conduct of the exercise. Motorists and commuters are requested to exercise patience and extend cooperation to authorities. Please be reminded that this is a simulation exercise only and no actual emergency is taking place.

This exercise is part of the city’s continuing efforts to strengthen emergency response readiness. It will test operational response time, dispatch integration, command coordination, traffic control, and medical triage procedures in a simulated incident scenario.

TRAFFIC ENFORCER RETURNS FOUND WALLET TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNER

Sept. 7, 2026 @ 10:46 A.M. Mr. Cinerio Cabuga, residing in Brgy. Sambag Jaro, Iloilo City appeared personally to the office of Col. Uldarico A. Garbanzos, Dep't Head II, POSMO to give thanks to Traffic Enforcer Art Sanchez assigned in Mandurriao District for returning a wallet containing cash and valuable documents which he found in Q. Abeto, St. Mandurriao at about 10:00 A.M. today.

Salute to the honest, committed and dedicated Enforcer. Your actions bespeaks of worthy emulation on your part in particular and to the office in general. Keep up the good work.

PROPOSED TRAFFIC DISCIPLINE ZONES ORDINANCE

Oct. 6, 2026 @ 1:30 P.M. Rolando Hollero (ECU-Chief Opn.), Rico Sta. Ana (Chief on Transportation), and Michelle Benedicto (Paralegal/PIO, POSMO/TTMO) attended Proposed Traffic Discipline Zones Ordinance together with other stakeholders conducted by The Office of Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna as Chairperson, Committee on Transportation held at 4th Floor Conference Room, New Legislative Building.

A pre-hearing meeting was conducted prior of the hearing to prepare for a discussion. The proposed ordinance names the TTMO as the lead enforcement agency for the Traffic Discipline Zones. Its duties includes field deployment, monitoring of the zones, and issuance of Ordinance Violation Receipts. TTMO will be the one to put this ordinance into practice.

To support Rise To Action Program we, in POSMO and TTMO are participating with the plans of partner agencies for behavioral improvement.

POSMO-RRU AND POSMO ANTI-CRIMINALITY ASSISTED THE DISTRIBUTION OF CLOA

Oct. 6, 2026 @ 1:30 P.M. POSMO-RRU led by Felimon Eriberto Rubin Jr. and POSMO Anti-Criminality assisted the distribution of Department of Agrarian Reform's (DAR) Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) for farmers and farmworkers held at Iloilo National High School.

We, in POSMO and TTMO, ensuring the safety of guest and participants joining in this noble endeavor for the betterment of resilient Iloilo City.

Office (TTMO), together with Cyril Octavio (Chief Opn., POSMO), and Rico Sta. Ana (Chief of Transportation) with Reylan Hervias, (Office Staff) of City Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna, together with other Transport Cooperative/Sector attended meeting for transport held at Synergy Room, 5th Floor, Iloilo City Hall.

Agenda discussed were
● Renewal of Provisional Authority to existing route for the Leganes-Iloilo City via La Paz
● First Town Conference Agreements and Conditions
● No loading/unloading concern
● First Town Limited Stops
●Other concerns
