UNGKAYA PUKAN, BASILAN| – In support of quality education and community empowerment, the 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion actively participated in Brigada Eskwela 2026 and the implementation of the Enrollment, Access to Services and Essentials (EASE) Program of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE-BARMM) in several schools within Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan.

The 45IB, thru its Alpha (Aggressor) Company led by 1Lt. Joseph M. Bautista, Company Commander, conducted manpower assistance, clean-up drives, school rehabilitation activities, and free hair-cut services in partnership with school administrators, teachers, parents, barangay officials and community volunteers. The collaborative efforts benefited Materling Elementary School, Pipil Elementary School, Cabangalan Elementary School, and Ungkaya Pukan National High School.

The activity showcased the true essence of Bayanihan, as government forces and community members worked side by side to prepare classrooms and school facilities for the upcoming academic year. Through these collective efforts, learners are assured of a safer, cleaner, and more conducive environment for learning.

The initiative reflects the continuing commitment of the 45IB and MBHTE-BARMM to support educational development, strengthen community resilience, and foster a culture of cooperation that contributes to lasting peace and progress in Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan.

Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan| in line with ongoing peacebuilding and conflict-prevention initiatives, the 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion successfully conducted a Rido settlement activity in Barangay Danapa, Al-Barka, Basilan, on On 04 June 2026.

The activity was carried out by the representation of Sgt Lancer B. Suma-il, Patrol Base Commander of Danapa, together with the Municipal Police Station (MPS) of Al-Barka headed by PSMS Junior T. Abdurahman, Team Leader. The settlement focused on resolving a family feud involving incumbent Hon. Maris Mahawan, Chairperson of Brgy Danapah and former Chairperson, Mr. Morsid M. Mujajilun.

Through constructive dialogue and mediation, both parties were encouraged to address their differences peacefully, helping ease tensions within the community. The initiative underscores the commitment of military and police forces in maintaining peace, strengthening community relations, and preventing another series of local armed conflicts contributing to the sustained stability and security of Barangay Danapa and nearby communities.

UNGKAYA PUKAN, BASILAN| On 01 June 2026, the 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion, formally welcomed its newly assigned personnel through a Donning of Unit Patch Ceremony held in conjunction with the weekly Flag Raising Ceremony at its Battalion Headquarters in Brgy Bohe Pahu in Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan.

The activity served as a symbolic induction of the newly assigned soldiers into the unit. The donning of the 45IB Unit Patch signifies the personnel’s commitment to uphold the unit’s tradition of professionalism, discipline, and dedicated service in fulfilling its mission of maintaining peace and security in Basilan.

The ceremony was graced by Hon. Lutfurrahman Maturan, Vice Mayor of the Municipality of Ungkaya Pukan, whose presence underscored the strong partnership and cooperation between the local government unit and the Government Forces. His attendance highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions in advancing peace, security, and community development within the battalion’s area of responsibility.

The 45th Infantry Battalion remains steadfast in strengthening its operational readiness while fostering meaningful partnerships with stakeholders in support of lasting peace and sustainable development in Basilan.

Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan | As part of the continuing effort to strengthen partnership and cooperation with local government leaders, the 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion warmly welcomed Hon. Jul Adnan Hataman, Municipal Mayor of Sumisip, Basilan, during his visitation to the Battalion Headquarters on 26 May 2026.

The visit served as an avenue to further enhance the strong relationship between the Municipal Government of Sumisip and the 45IB Gallant Troopers in promoting peace, security, and development within the municipality. A meaningful engagement was also conducted, focusing on sustaining collaborative efforts in addressing community concerns and ensuring the safety and welfare of the people of Sumisip.

The activity highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and mutual support between the local government and the military in achieving lasting peace and progress in the area. The 45IB remains steadfast in its commitment to work hand in hand with Mayor Hataman and other stakeholders in building a more peaceful, progressive, and resilient community.

Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan | On May 25, 2026, personnel of the 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion conducted the weekly Flag Raising Ceremony together with Hon. Arcam P. Istarul, Municipal Mayor of Tipo-Tipo, Basilan. The activity highlighted unity, cooperation, and commitment to public service between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Local Government Unit (LGU) in promoting peace, security, and development within the area of responsibility.

The ceremony strengthened the partnership and coordination between the military and the local government while fostering camaraderie, discipline, and morale among participating personnel and stakeholders. Discussions during the activity also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in sustaining peace and order, supporting community development initiatives, and addressing the needs and welfare of residents within the area of responsibility.

May 23, 2026 – The 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion proudly recognizes the exemplary achievements of its officers for their outstanding performance in their respective military courses.

1LT JAYSON I CODERIS (FS) PA excelled in the Finance Service Officer Advance Course (FSOAC), where he achieved an outstanding general average of 94.52, earning the Finance Center Award and securing the Top 6 position in his class. He likewise received several module academic awards, including recognition for obtaining an average above 89% with no topic grade lower than 86%, as well as module general averages of 95.54%, 95%, 96.35%, and 98.33%. In addition, he was conferred the Philippine Army Core Values Award – Silver Category. His accomplishments reflect exceptional dedication, academic excellence, and professional competence in the field of financial service operations.

Likewise, 1LT RAJIE C CAMIQUE (INF) PA demonstrated exceptional competence in the Infantry Officers Advanced Course (IOAC) Class 200-26, attaining an impressive general average of 91.82. In recognition of his remarkable performance, he was conferred the Commandant’s Award for Warfighting Planning Excellence, highlighting his expertise in operational planning, leadership, and tactical proficiency.

The 45IB commends both officers for bringing honor and distinction to the unit through their remarkable accomplishments, exemplifying the highest standards of competence, discipline, and leadership expected of Gallant Troopers in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

𝐔𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐏𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐧, 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧 | On 18 May 2026, in a significant step toward sustaining peace and strengthening community harmony in Basilan, personnel of the 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion joined and witnessed the successful settlement of separate rido cases held at the People’s Capitol, Basilan Government Center, Sta. Clara, Lamitan City, with an estimated total of 140 attendees composed of local officials, security sector representatives, community leaders, and concerned residents.

The settlement involved Mr. Hatam Indanan of Brgy. Bangcuang and Mr. Barahim Paising of Brgy. Bohe Baca, whose dispute had persisted for eight (8) years. Another reconciliation effort was also conducted between Mr. Rahsim of Brgy. Banah and Mr. Listari Masari of Brgy. Bohe Lebbung, whose conflict had lasted for five (5) years. All involved parties are residents of Tipo-Tipo Municipality.

The activity was initiated by the Provincial Government of Basilan under the leadership of Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman, Provincial Governor, as part of the province’s continuing commitment to promote peace, reconciliation, and unity among communities affected by long-standing conflicts. Also present during the activity was Brigadier General Frederick M Sales, Commander of 1101st Infantry (Gagandilan) Brigade.

The successful settlement of these long-standing conflicts highlights the collaborative efforts of the local government, security sector, and community leaders in fostering peaceful dialogue and effective conflict resolution mechanisms. The initiative also aimed to prevent the escalation of violence, strengthen mutual understanding among concerned parties, and preserve peace and public safety in the area.

The 45th Infantry (Gallant) Battalion remains steadfast in supporting peacebuilding initiatives and strengthening partnerships with stakeholders in ensuring a peaceful and progressive Basilan.
